Durham has been corrupt since it was the hometown of Frank Matthews, “Black Caesar”, the east coast heroin king, during the 1970s. Millions flowed through there.

And after him came Frank Lucas (”American Gangster”, portrayed by Denzel Washington), also a North Carolinian.

There are lots of bizarre legal cases in Durham — to protect the entrenched ruling class.

And it’s no surprise that the Duke lacrosse case could take place there —one of the few places in the nation where a crime that never happened could be prosecuted for a year,
despite the accused being proven innocent by DNA testing before anyone was even arrested.

But that’s Durham...

I recently moved into North Carolina (Wake County) and on election day I pulled out my ID because the poll worker was struggling with my address. Another poll worker got quite cross with me and demanded I put my ID away immediately as North Carolina does NOT require ID to vote.

I think she was afraid I would start a disturbance behind me among the long line waiting to vote.

Obviously, North Carolina NEEDS voter ID as the law.

Perhaps, yet Calgary voted in Nenshi, Alberta voting in Notley and Canada voted in Turd-owe, so they are not alone.

Welcome to Wake County, NC! (I am a native - having grown up in Wake County).

I’m glad you tried to pull out your ID - despite what the poll worker tried to do.

Well, the courts continue to knock down good NC laws - the Legislature passed voter ID only to have it overturned in the courts. They also redistricted the voting districts only to have those FAIR districts overturned in the courts as well.

NC has a LOT of entrenched, corrupt democrat judges.

(And I mean, “corrupt”!)

We're there any actual republican election judges or poll watchers in these precincts? If not, perhaps the dem poll workers just voted over and over for people who did not show up. If this happened, then the recount should show that the signatures on the receipts do not match the signatures on the voter registration papers. Poll watchers are a necessity in these precincts where no republicans act as judges.

Perhaps the presence of poll watchers kept inner city vote counts in places like Philadelphia from magically growing after the polls closed. When Philly was reported before western parts of PA, I had hope that Trump would win.

I don’t know about poll watchers in Durham County where the bulk of the voter fraud took place. The elections board in Durham County is, no doubt, controlled by the Democrats.

Durham County is a violent and dangerous place. Many murders there and shootings. Poll watchers would have to be very brave to go into those precincts where, I imagine, the worst of the fraud occurred.

Voter fraud undermines Democracy.

Don't buy the media and politician line of calling us a "democracy."

I have a NC conservative friend who enthusiastically voted for Trump. She also voted for Cooper. She says McCrory is awful. Bad for NC, and it has nothing to do with bathrooms.

Anyone have any insights on that?

You are right. Our national government was designed to be a Republic. Most state Constitutions describes their state as a Republic. I don’t know that any state Constitution describes the state as a Democracy. I think some use both words for example, a democratic republic.

I can only say that McCrory has been ten million times better than the previous Demonrat governors who took NC down into corruption (the Department of Motor Vehicles is just one example of corruption under the Dems) and into debt (we were always in debt under Governor Purdue and other Dem governors).

McCrory and the Republicans in the Legislature managed to bring NC out of debt, with enough left over for a rainy day fund which came in handy after Hurricane Matthew....which the Dems wanted to gut but couldn’t.

They have also cut taxes (somewhat) and brought jobs back to NC - that is until different companies started pulling out of NC due to HB2.

I’m sorry but Cooper is totally disgusting. I could not possibly vote for him any more than I could vote for Hillary.

OK so McCrory requests a recount; what if it’s denied? Who says yes or no? And if he does get the recount and he still comes up short then what? I know that at some point the state legislature would decide on a winner. When is that point?

How could they corrupt the DMV?

Evidently it was related to political appointments at the DMV for positions that shouldn’t have been political.

http://blackpoliticalbuzz.blogspot.com/2010/03/north-carolina-laws-encourage-hides.html (This is just one source I found - not sure about the agenda of the source).

The one about Mike Easley’s wife’s position and pay increase is another eye opener of Democratic corruption in state government. “These kinds of hires have led to misuse and waste in state and local governments. Federal authorities have investigated how former Gov. Mike Easley’s wife, Mary, won a job followed by an 88 percent pay increase at N.C. State University. The university initially cited the personnel law in not releasing key documents showing Mike Easley’s involvement in creating Mary Easley’s job.”

Here’s more on the totally corrupt Governor Mike Easley and his wife’s special treatment at NCSU.

“Roy Cooper is the Democrat - sitting Attorney General.”

It seems that in North Carolina it’s not just who counts the votes, but who might investigate voter fraud, that matters.

Unfortunately I know alot of DFWP. They were behind HB2 until losing the NBA and NCAA, they bought completely into the losing 100s of millions of dollars lie.
