United Nations delegates agreed to put off writing any rules for the recently ratified Paris climate agreement to 2018 after President-elect Donald Trump, whos opposed the agreement, won a surprising election victory.
UN delegates came away with little more than a pledge to reconvene by December 2018 to write rules for the global warming agreement despite extending their two-week summit in Marrakech, Morocco an extra day.
News outlets are reporting nearly 200 countries reaffirmed their pledges to fully implement the Paris deal, which aims to somehow keep projected global warming below 2 degrees Celsius.
But Trumps surprise election victory shocked UN diplomats, and put the future of the Paris agreement in jeopardy. Trump promised to cancel the Paris deal on the campaign trail, and Republican lawmakers have vowed to make sure its never implemented.
The Republican president-elect also promised to cancel billions in global warming payments to the United Nations and spend that money on U.S. environmental programs instead. That would effectively undo the $3 billion pledge Obama made to the UNs Green Climate Fund.

Might want to make that 16 years.
No postponement. The US should withdraw.
No mon No rules
The world truly changed for the better on the evening of November 8th. We will see just how much in the months to come. Get ready, Trump is coming!
Given the cyclic nature of the climate and the complete lack of proof that CO2 has even the slightest actual influence on global temperatures... we are most likely about to enter a cooling trend. The place where my wife and I live in the Northwest was under half a mile of ice around 12,000 years ago, which is the blink of an eye in geologic time.
The Conference of Parties(COP) is an add on to the treaty. We went thru 21 COPs and nobody ever claimed that COP was a treaty. Only with COP 22 in Paris comes the claim that it is a treaty that needs to be ratified.
Nobody ever claimed that Kyoto(COP 3) was a treaty needing ratification by the Senate. Instead, GW Bush unsigned it.
Likewise, Trump can unsign the COP 22 Paris agreement. Or, if he wants to, he can take the US out of the 1992 Treaty.
But what about the tipping point? /S
I believe there is also a “no action” possibility here too, isn’t there? Something about remaining silent?
The people who tell us climate change is the greatest existential threat to mankind never seem to act as if it actually were.
‘Tipping’ only applies to cows and Guam.
Just putting it off long enough to brace themselves for the sting of the slap....
OK!! Everybody pay attention!
Lesson for today:
1. The sun is 1,300,000 times as big as the earth.
2. The sun is a giant nuclear furnace that controls the climates of all its planets.
3. The earth is one of the suns planets.
4. The earth is a speck in comparison to the size of the sun.
5. Inhabitants of the earth are less than specks.
Study Question: How do less-than-specks in congress plan to control the sun?
Yup, do a search on: “air pollution, Marrakech, Morocco”
Unwritten is that they know it is dead and are simply delaying that reality.
This could be series. Don’t they know just how hot it is now? A few months ago the planet was “ON THE BRINK! THERE IS NO GOING BACK! IT’S OVER AND THE DESTRUCTION IS COMPLETE!”
But, they can wait until 2018...

As Trump said while campaigning, we’re going to be winning so much you’ll get tired of it.
I imagine that I won’t get tired for at least a couple of years.
And nothing will be different about what goes on inside, except that it will start generating revenue.
They know that if Trump pulled out of the UN, it would be with the people’s support.
