New York to remain a ‘sanctuary city’ for immigrants: de Blasio
NY Post ^ | November 19, 2016 | Laura Italiano

New York will remain a “sanctuary city” for undocumented immigrants, Mayor de Blasio promised on Friday — even if Donald Trump makes good on his threats to yank federal funding in retaliation.

In fact, the city will reject federal aid that comes with objectionable “strings attached,” such as requiring local cops to turn over people they learn are here illegally, an action that, as a sanctuary city, New York won’t allow, he said.

“That may be a choice we have to make,” de Blasio told WNYC’s Brian Lehrer.

“Each state needs to deport their criminal illegal aliens to New Yawk where they can be “protected” from “Trump supporters” by diaper pin boy, de Blasio.”

Buy the illegals a one way bus trip to their closest Sanctuary City, like: San Francisco, Portland, Seattle, LA, Chicago, Houston, NYC, DC, Atlanta and Miami with a map of where to get freebies in Spanish in their home city, and a $25 gift card from McD’s to feed them on their way to the la Raza Sanctuary city.

New York is going to be on the hook for much of the next year, as Melania and Barron Trump are going to remain in the Trump Tower, and the resulting traffic diversion necessary to provide adequate security and protection will cost New York even more dearly.

Sanctuary is starting to look more and more like a really bad deal, when it is extended to criminal types from all over the world. It would be one thing to provide sanctuary from the various oppressive regimes is the refugees really were being persecuted by the authorities in their countries of origin, but this has never been adopted as the criteria for extending sanctuary. Mostly, it is a cover for importing and sort of legitimatizing new supporters of the existing city hall political machines.

We used to live in a sanctuary city. Only because we were fortunate enough to be able to live in a nice gated community with guards.

A sanctuary city is exactly how you imagine it would be. Awful.

We fled SoCal to get away from that and the nutty policies. Best thing we ever did.

Setting an example and precedent, city mayors can now pick and choose federal laws that they’re willing to follow. NYC voters picked a real winnah for mayor.

No mayor worth his salt would be willing to accept that responsibility.

But isn’t it great to hear these progressives talking about nullification and interposition? How else are you going to get De Blasio to channel John Calhoun?

Not really. I live in NY and I intend to damn well resent anyone who thinks they can steal my country from me.

Is this comparable to states claiming they wouldn’t take stimulus and then they took stimulus?

Another good reason to not live in NYC. If Fed funds get cut, DiBlasio will just raise taxes to make up the difference.

If New Yorkers ever came to their senses they’d run this geek out of Manhattan on a rail after covering him with tar and feathers.

“If Fed funds get cut, DiBlasio will just raise taxes to make up the difference.”

And that’s “a really good thing,” because the snowflakes there need to pay for their idiotic notions.
