NPR: After Pollak, No More Live Interviews for Conservatives
Breitbart ^ | 19 Nov 2016

Posted on 11/19/2016 10:40:17 PM PST by detective

National Public Radio ombudsman/public editor Elizabeth Jensen has recommended that the taxpayer-funded radio news service bar future live interviews of conservatives who may have controversial views, following an interview Nov. 16 with Breitbart News’ Joel B. Pollak.

Pollak, who serves as Breitbart’s Senior Editor-at-Large and In-house Counsel, defended its Executive Chairman Stephen K. Bannon from false and defamatory claims of antisemitism and “white nationalism.” He also turned the tables, pointing out that NPR has “racist programming,” including a story that called the 2016 election results “nostalgia for a whiter America.”

Ya, wouldn’t it be great if Trump would jettison NPR? Who would care?

Fine. NPR can ban anyone they want so long as they take not one penny of taxpayer funding. Then, as a totally listener-supported, non-tax receiving entity, they should be free to do what they want.

MPR will limp along without federal funds. But, they are embedded in so many college and tiny radio stations I think it may be worth the money from having them go full Pravada when cut off.

Equal time.....get some equal time going.

How about both sides get equally NOTHING. Just like what's in the Constitution that gives them the right to spend our tax money on running a radio network - NOTHING.

(NPR says conservatives are banned from their tax payer funded network.)

That’s incorrect and not what the article stated...

What the article stated was conservatives are banned from being conservative on the tax-funded network by dis-allowing live interviews in order to be able to “contextualize” the story. IOW, they’re going all-out Orwellian to establish “newspeak” as the only acceptable expression on the network.

Classic bullies, NPR loves to dish it out, but just can’t bear taking it even in the slightest

You assume the Bully Pulpit has no weight of power to get anything done. You are not in the box you are taught you are in. Everything, and I mean everything, has been turned upside down as far as prevailing wisdom is concerned.

“National Public Radio ombudsman/public editor Elizabeth Jensen has recommended that the taxpayer-funded radio news service bar future live interviews of conservatives who may have controversial views,...”

Controversal views being defined as anything they dont agree with. This wont last long under a Trump Administration.

Of course NPR did not say that in those words.

NPR dishonestly pretends to be objective and to reflect all views.

But if you understand what is actually being said is that no opinion that deviates from the leftist disinformation party line will be accepted and must be “contextualized”.

In other words there must be no challenge to the leftist propaganda.

You must understand that their language is Orwellian and their methods are Stalinist.

National Progressive Radio.

Soros should be paying for it, not us.

A long time ago I liked Bob Edwards. On Fridays Mel Allen would call in to the show. But that was a long time ago... Diane Riehm, Tavis Smiley, Daniel Schorr when he was still alive... All insufferable! And ‘All Things Considered’ would more accurately be named ‘Most Things Ignored’.

Jensen concluded that the live format had allowed Pollak to get the better of host Steve Inskeep.

I was listening to this on my drive in to work and cheering Pollak on! It was great! Inskeep is used to "conservatives" being simpering, mealy-mouthed wussies when he gets in their faces, not hit back and hit harder.
