Even though I was #nevertrump, I’m already so sick of listening to liberals whine about Trump that I’m tempted to throw on a “Make America Great Again” hat for no other reason than just to piss them off. You’re upset about Trump winning? Well, guess what? Conservatives were upset about Obama winning twice. Welcome to the party, pal.
Oh, but liberals are special snowflakes whose feelings are more important than those of regular people. They need safe spaces, blankies and pacifiers to cope with trauma and they’re getting them at colleges across America. Therapy dogs were offered to traumatized students at the University of Kansas. Virginia Tech’s HokiePRIDE group posted national suicide hotline numbers. Liberal students are demanding “separate but equal” facilities for black students at the University of Michigan….yes, seriously. So, we have liberals DEMANDING SEGREGATION, but they’re still calling everyone else racist.
You want an example of that? Here’s what hateful liberal George Takei wrote on Twitter, “Michael Flynn, Jeff Sessions, Steve Bannon. Islamophobe, Racist, Anti-Semite. This isn't a cabinet. It's a KKKabinet.” A liberal claiming everyone he doesn’t like is racist? Wow, how fresh and original! Of course, we all know that if John McCain, Mitt Romney or even Jeb Bush were President today, people like George Takei would be saying EXACTLY THE SAME THING. Mitt could have appointed all Mormon choir boys and the Left would still be painting them as David Duke. Speaking of David Duke, have you ever noticed that since he’s a pariah in the Republican Party, any and all influence he has is generated by liberal outlets writing about what he says? Along similar lines, liberals seem to have concluded that Trump’s victory is all about racism. Here are just a tiny smattering of headlines from liberal websites pushing exactly that theme.

How rational is it to assume that the people in a country that voted for a black President twice suddenly decided Trump is a bigot and they like it? Especially since the share of minority voters Trump received WENT UP from the numbers that Romney got? How about the fact that, “Of the nearly 700 counties that twice sent Obama to the White House, a stunning one-third flipped to support Trump. Trump also won 194 of the 207 counties that voted for Obama either in 2008 or 2012.” Even Kanye West came out and said he would have voted for Trump if he had bothered to vote. Does that make him a white supremacist? I really don’t get that vibe from him.
It may not make sense to assume that the country voted for Trump because of racism, but there is one great thing about it from the liberal perspective: it implies that the problem isn’t you. It’s not you tediously smearing everyone who doesn’t agree with you. It’s not Obama losing the war in Afghanistan and Iraq while cutting a deal that will allow Iran to get nuclear weapons. It’s not forcing gay marriage on a country that mostly didn’t want it and demanding that mentally ill men be allowed to use bathrooms with little girls. It’s not the complete liberal indifference to the size of the debt or the incessant lying that liberal politicians like Obama, Hillary and Harry Reid engage in. It’s not the failure to secure the border, Obama suing the Little Sisters or the poor or Hillary’s disgusting, “I’m a woman, so you have to vote for me” campaign. No, the problem is that everyone is racist….except Lena Dunham, Cher, you and your liberal pals.
Just consider Obamacare as a standalone issue.
The critics of Obamacare turned out to be almost entirely right about Obamacare while few of the promises Barack Obama made about the program turned out to be true. It was passed with no Republican votes, the rollout was a disaster and it was NEVER popular. Yet and still, liberals seem to think the program is the greatest thing since sliced bread because it covers more people. Meanwhile, a much larger group of Americans have seen their health care costs take off like a rocket. Let me give you an example. I was talking to a non-political friend of mine who was initially a little excited about Obamacare because she qualified for a subsidy the first year. However, after she started making slightly more and didn’t qualify, she became horrified at how expensive her insurance payments became. She was told that if she wants the same plan this year, it will be $380 a month, which she can’t afford. She voted for Trump. When liberals write off people like her as racists, it’s a way of absolving themselves from all the problems they’ve created in the country and in people’s lives over the last eight years.
Let me add that if you want to have a pointless protest swollen with people you hired from Craigslist, could you at least avoid rioting and stay out of the street so that you don’t block traffic? Is that asking too much? Oh…..because your feelings are hurt that the rest of the country picked someone you didn’t like, throwing a brick through a window or blocking traffic is okay. Right? Wrong.
Your incessant attacks on white people for the color of their skin are fine, but people voting for a candidate you don’t like must be racist. Every time there’s a fight provoked at a Trump rally by a Democratic operative, you think the black night of fascism is descending on America, but you turn a blind eye to people being beaten for wearing a MAGA hat. You think it’s okay for celebrities and CEOs to say things like,

You think this is such a racist country? You think it’s such a rotten place? You’re getting on your high horse about Trump when you were supporting HILLARY @#$%^!* Clinton? Then go to Canada. Have your Calexit. If only we could FORCE California to leave the United States. If that’s your attitude, then the country would be better off without you.
I am of the conclusion now that there cannot be and will not be any reconciliation with these a-holes. And it will be getting uglier with each passing week until Trump is in office and cops start arresting them in droves.
I'm afraid John Hawkins gives too much credit to liberals. They don't actually think. They flit from emotional stimulation to emotional stimulation, ever seeking more intense highs. Thought is not part of this process.

I would agree. When OWS failed, they just moved on to another destructive protest with a different name. These “people” have nothing else to do.
People voting.for.Trump didnt have anything to do with any of that stuff. The decimated 99% finally realized nothing was ever going to trickle down and voted for an outsider.
Nice article by Mr. Hawkins. But let’s not forget that #NeverTrumpers like him almost cost us the election. It’s good to see some of them finally come to their senses, to realize: Gee,there is something in the world worse than Donald Trump.

The despicable behavior by the Broadway cast of “Hamilton” last night speaks volumes about what and where the left is and will remain. Time for those types of shows on Broadway to go dark! Cash in your tickets and read a good history book.
EVERY SINGLE Trump word or action is derided by the Left wing media.
You would think they learned a lesson as a result of the election. But no. It’s “Trump this...” or “Trump that...”.
They’ve become irrelevant. It’s time to just completely ignore them.
Time for public colleges and universities in Republican states to be reigned in and changed. THere are many actions that can be taken to deal with the out of control administrations and faculties. Demand Governors, legislatures, and boards return the institutions to educational and not propagandist pursuits.
We have the power of the purse, boards can eliminate programs, ensure Sr. Administrative hires are reform individuals. Worked in the academy for 45 years and saw its decline. Don’t fall for the academic freedom argument. That argument only truly valuable in the subject matter content taught within a particular course.
I hope for three things:
1. God will turn the MSM speech into Babel-like gibberish.
2. God will send major blizzards with -40° temps to the cities where protests are happening.
3. God will send a plague of gut-wrenching, explosive dysentery to the protestors.
The conservative message regarding the anti-trump demonstrations/hysteria should be clear. They are not genuine and are being conducted by PROFESSIONAL AGITATORS PAID by George Soros and others. They are a leftist ploy to create the impression that Trump represents an intolerable danger and cannot be allowed to take office.
While McCain and Romney were never my choices, the left changed the locks on the gate. Proper little keys don’t work and the Republicans have been locked out of power. Only a battering ram like Trump was effective.
Now that we’re in we need a world-class cleanup crew.
And the left is whacking every possible hornet’s nest.
To am extent sure, but I don’t see anyone perceived as being in league with the GOPe as having a chance at winning either. I feel that the Never Trump was helpful in showing that he wasn’t an insider with the despicable establishment. We’re kidding ourselves as to who could win decisively against Hillary with all the hardcore libs out there.
