The Department of Veterans Affairs has dropped plans to start covering gender transition surgery for veterans amid concerns about costs.
The proposed rule change that would have allowed the VA to pay for such surgeries was withdrawn from the Fall 2016 Unified Agenda, a biannual publication of proposed regulation changes that was due Monday.
VA has been and will continue to explore a regulatory change that would allow VA to perform gender alteration surgery and a change in the medical benefits package, when appropriated funding is available, the VA said in a statement Monday.
VA officials sent a letter dated Thursday to six members of Congress informing them of the decision. The lawmakers previously wrote a letter asking the VA to move swiftly on lifting the ban on payment for such operations.

Makes sense since the boozes involved with this will all be unemployed or in prison soon.
Cut, baby, cut!
Just send them back to Iraq where the enemy can shoot it off.
Bosses?
Anyhow yeah, they read the handwriting on the wall and it said Donald Trump and Mike Pence.
Anyone tired of winning yet ? ?
Wow!!!
I know I keep saying that, but Trump has made more positive changes in seven days than our current WH occupant has done in eight years.
People sense he won’t put up with nonsense. And they are acting accordingly.
Still........Winning!
Wow!!!

People sense he won’t put up with nonsense. And they are acting accordingly.
And he hasn’t even been inaugurated yet.
I wonder if somebody whispered in their ear that they better knock it off.
I have to attend a Department of the Army/Civil Service class tomorrow about transgender acceptance in the Army. I’ll sit through it, sleeping with my eyes open ... I’m trusting President Trump’s Department of Defense to speedily put a stop to this and make such classes irrelevant in the future.
Right up there with:
* The dog ate my homework.
* Our CEO is leaving to spend more time with his family.
* Would you like to buy this Florida waterfront property?
* This beautiful bridge is for sale.
“I know I keep saying that, but Trump has made more positive changes in seven days than our current WH occupant has done in eight years.”
Same applies to Bush. I recall no push back from that jackass, just more globalism with a legacy of bring in obama and getting the ball rolling for multiple no-win wars.
Trump falls into a category of being too good to be true. I think he’s genuine, my worries pertain mostly to the powers finding a way to eliminate him.
RUNNING FOR THE TALL GRASS!!!!
Please let me know. As a recent retiree I am interested to hear how this will pan out.
I work as an RN for Veterans Affairs, and I can say that this is a step in the right direction.
Next, I hope they streamline the department and get rid of worthless positions that do nothing but sponge off the budget.
And, I really hope that they can start pressuring the worthless unions to start making reform. I know of several employees that call in weekly, do not have FMLA, and yet management is forbidden to terminate due to the union. It’s complete BS, and pretty much only tolerated in Federal government. I love my job, and take pride in caring for veterans, and appreciate my pay/benefits, but it literally takes an act of murder to get fired from the Fed govt.
Winning.
Will do ... the rumors are already buzzing around here about the termination of Women in the Combat Arms experiment that they’ve been running for awhile. That should be interesting as well.
