Rep. Chaffetz: We're not done with Hillary Clinton
A pardon cannot be rescinded, but an investigation is still necessary to understand what happened and what must be done to ensure it never happens again. Her guilt can still be established, and her trust (what little is left) destroyed.
Of course, all this must happen before her clients withdraw a ton of flesh in return for failure to deliver influence nor refunds for their $billions.
It really MUST happen. Trump is the only one who could pull it off methinks.
Chairman Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) opened Thursdays House Oversight Committee hearing on the FBIs decision not to prosecute Hillary Clinton by noting he has "great admiration" for the FBI. Yet, he and his colleagues are mystified by FBI Director James Comeys laying out the damning fact pattern about Clintons use of a private email server, yet opting not to pursue criminal charges.
The average Joe, if they had done what you laid out in your statement, theyd be in handcuffs, Chaffetz said. "You've set a dangerous precedent."
It seems an awful lot like a double standard, the chairman noted.
Hillary Clinton laid out this mess, made a very conscious decision to set up a system to bypass the protocol of the State Department, Chaffetz continued. Her actions put American lives at jeopardy, yet there doesnt seem to be any consequence waiting for her.
I have defended your integrity, but I am mystified and confused, Chaffetz said to Comey.
Comey began his opening statement by saying he was proud of the work the FBI did in its investigation and welcomed the panels questions. Im a big fan of transparency.
There was no evidence to suggest Clinton was guilty of gross negligence, he explained.
Thats just the way it is, he said. "No reasonable prosecutor" would pursue criminal charges.
Prompted by Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD) line of questioning, Comey contrasted Clintons case with that of David Petraeuss, who Comey said acted deliberately in his abuse of classified information. Unlike Clinton, Comey said Petraeus's act was a clear obstruction of justice that justified prosecution.
Chaffetz also asked Comey about Clintons private server in her basement in her New York home. Was it an unauthorized or an authorized location? he wondered.
It was an unauthorized location for the transmitting of classified information, Comey answered.
Would someone with Clintons record ever be given a security clearance from the FBI? Chaffetz later asked. Comey refused to directly answer, but noted it was certainly be a serious consideration.
It would be an important consideration in a suitability determination.
Comey also acknowledged that if someone in the FBI had done what Clinton did with her emails, they would face a range of discipline, such as termination or loss of clearance.
Panelist Rep. Trey Gowdy (S-SC) agreed with Chaffetz's assessment that the FBI had set a dangerous precedent in its investigation, fearing that the FBI's decision will do nothing to prevent future secretaries of state from using the same email scheme.
Update: Chaffetz let Comey know that he will be sending the FBI a congressional referral to investigate whether Clinton lied under oath.

You forgot CIA, DOT, HUD, ABC, CBS, PMSNBC, CNN, TREASURY, HS, ETC. ETC. ETC.
Yep. This is not about getting even with hillary. It’s not really about hillary, per-se. It is about upholding the rule of law.
That's right. That's why Obama will NOT pardon Hillary. They see no need to do so. After all the dem position is that she has done no wrong.
or this deal:
she has to close the clinton foundation and give all its money to build the wall.
With Hillary not there to protect his legacy, what does he owe her?
Unless he’s afraid she’ll turn on him and kill his legacy even more.
Doesn’t she need to be convicted before she can be pardoned?
Not so. Nixon was pardoned for "any crimes he may have committed while president".
No charges, yet pardoned and thus shielded from prosecution.
Which is why it is important that she be hounded and taken down for her dealings with the Clinton Foundation...not what she may have done as SecState.
We’ve heard for years how you guys in Congress were really gonna do something this time! Actions speak louder than words. So shut up until and show us the Justice!
LOL. Keep em drunk so they don’t brother us too much.
Plea bargain: never, never will a Clintonrun tor any office, including dog catcher . No Chelsea, no Chelsea kids, no Chelsea grandchildren, No husband of Chelsea
Was Nixon convicted? Answer no.
A genuinely independent prosecutor is the only way to go. Give him or her sufficient power to do a through job.
take this crime family down and then work on the obama crime family.
Hopefully, our homeland is now through with two garbage families: the Clintons and the Bushes.
I was reading that the presidential pardon process is not something that can be rushed through in a matter of weeks, it actually can take months and months. There’s quite a few steps involved.
However, knowing the sham FBI “examination” of the 650,000 Weiner emails was “completed” in nine days, heck, anything is possible.
The reality: Obama’s “legacy” is in ruins. Will he want to cast further doubts/questions regarding his “legacy” by pardoning a failed and criminally corrupt presidential candidate? The same candidate now blaming him and the FBI Director for her humiliating defeat at the ballot box? If he does pardon Cankles, it will clearly show him to be a co-conspirator and enabler of a corrupt Secretary of State.
So what will Obama do or not do to preserve/rescue his pathetic “legacy”? Will he or will he not pardon Cankles? It’s an interesting question.
You can bet the bank that 0bama will pardon her. He will probably pardon her whole crew, including B.J. Clinton and Chelsea.
Somehow I doubt it. Pardoning Nixon killed Ford's political career, do you think Obie would do that? For HER?
OTOH, a GOP inquisition into her crimes could be spun into a vengeful witch hunt by the Dems and the MSM.
Much as I'd like to see her behind bars, I will settle for her broke, out of power, helplessly watching as her party, and her agenda, go down the tubes. I wish her a long and miserable life in obscurity.
