He has until January 20. He could still EO Gitmo emptied and even turn the whole place over to the Castros in that time. As CinC he can order that Gitmo be evacuated in 48 hours if he so wishes.
And that’s just for the Clinton Cartel.
I am actually in favor of moving the detention center to Johnston A toll. Guantanamo Bay isn’t anywhere near remote enough.

I would prefer to see is somewhere on an island in the Arctic ocean off of Barrow Alaska. Much less comfortable for them and absolutely no chance of escape. Something like an ice prison on some sci-fi movie instead of club gitmo.

I recommended here some time ago that these desert lovers should be moved to an old military base in the Aleutian Islands. Lots of cold, windy, foggy, misty, and snowy weather to enjoy and impossible to escape. No more warm tropical breezes to enjoy. I don’t blame mainlanders from not wanting these people emprisoned anywhere that they could break out and escape into wilderness or where others could break them out. However, I don’t think it makes sense to blame Obama for what the rest of the country would not allow.

The name, “Johnston”, figures prominently during the 2nd World War in the South Pacific. Besides the island, the USS Johnston story is one for the ages!

We need to KEEP Guantanamo open since there several, soon to be ex government officials that will need living space for some time to come. Couldn’t get a better place.
With these hungry critters on the prowl, there would be no need for fences or guards.
Just air drop the bad guys down into the snow and let them make it to their new camp on their own!
