Trump needs tough guys that can rip up the bureaucracy. The reason why Trump won the gop primary in the first place was because he wasn’t just a talker

Class act. Not presidential timber but still a good guy to have on your side.

I had hoped he would be secretary of education, and undertake to introduce the revival of proper civics education K-12.

Dr. Carson will be Trump’s conduit and sounding board to resolving resolving inner city issues.

Dr. Carson should accept the appointment to EDUCATION where he can influence CURRICULUM. He is calming and likes to speak in terms of common sense and deplores what is happening in public schools and academia, on campus.

With no children of his own, he may long to be of encouragement.

This is bad. And I can only assume Armstrong Williams nixed it because he wasn’t going to get a “finders fee” of a million dollars or whatever he demanded. Williams is a crook, plain and simple

Surgeon General would be a better choice. HHS is a behemoth and needs a different skill set.

Knowing he is a ‘get it done’ kind of guy,

Can you imagine what it would be like to work for an organization where likely after 430pm no one will answer the phone and mostly painting one’s nails is done?

Good. I like the way he thinks but he is not an administrator/manager. I’d rather see him doing commentary and explaining and advocating conservative philosophy.

Sounds like a dull job for a bright guy. I don't blame him.

He needs to talk to black people about Trump. Especially the kids. I mean yoots.

I’m a little confused. The guy ran for President. He wanted to BE the administration and oversee all departments. He graciously endorsed Trump, but now doesn’t want to work in an administraction? Then why in the heck did he run for the biggest administration job of them all? If elected, was he going to refuse to show up on Inauguration Day and say he feels he can do more on the oufsidems? Good grief.

What a guy: it is not about him, it is about what is best for this nation.
People working behind the scenes can get A LOT done.

Ben Carson’s Facebook post:

My decision not to seek a cabinet position in the Trump administration has nothing to do with the complexity of the job as is being reported by some news outlets. I believe it is vitally important for the Trump administration to have many outspoken friends and advisers who are outside of the Washington bubble. It is vital to have independent voices of reason and reconciliation if our nation is to heal and regain its greatness. I will continue to work with the transition team and beyond as we build a dynamite executive branch of government.

I have to believe that Carson KNOWS what he’s doing and will be a GREATER asset to Trump and his administration operating OUTSIDE the bureaucracy.
