Carson is such an honest man. He said that he doesn’t have experience running a bureaucracy and wants to help.
I hope he gets offered Surgeon General. Maybe he’d accept that.

Pay cut.
Hope he participates in an outreach group to African-American community for the RNC.

Eliminate the Surgeon General position.

(urope. Why do they put up with this.)

That’s too bad. I would’ve loved to see him serve. I can understand a civilian cutting their losses after the nasty mess this election has been. I’m not sure I’d volunteer for it, either!

He’s a nice guy but runs off at the mouth sometimes.
To: afraidfortherepublic
I think he needs to be out working with the Black community getting them off the Democrat plantation.
To: DIRTYSECRET
I’m not for or against that, I just don’t know what the surgeon general position is. Could you briefly explain it and why you’d like it eliminated?

I wouldn’t. It’s essentially a bully pulpit for advocating things related to health.

Why is the HHS even needed?
Trash it, Trump!

Very unfortunate indeed. He would have been outstanding at HHS,Already being in Baltimore the job wouldn’t have involved serious upheaval in his personal life so pay cut and/or having a change of mind regarding public office must be why he declined.

I agree. Carson is bright (well, yeah he is a brain surgeon), but he lacked the administrative experience required to operate an agency at a high level. I am hopeful that he finds some useful way to contribute to the Trump administration, and I'm sure his help would be appreciated. It would be a shame to let his talent remain untapped.

I’d like to see Dr. Carson in a State Dept. position. After President Trump beats up on a hardheaded foreign leader, Dr. Carson can follow-up and make nice again. I can’t think of anyone better suited for that sort of thing.

Carson can do better as an author, lecturer, and pundit. He might not have been a good administrator.

I hope BEN CARSON works to instill virtue into BLACK YOUTH.

Not a loss. As a member of the President’s Cabinet, Dr. Carson’s voice would necessarily be subordinate to the President, while as an outside consultant, he may be overruled, but not subject to a diminution of his influence.
I see Dr. Carson as an advocate of a number of positions on which the Trump Administration has to either soft-pedal, or have at least the appearance on not supporting. A sounding board is not necessarily an echo chamber.
