Appearing on the 9 a.m. ET hour of NBC’s Today on Monday, left-wing actor Donald Sutherland recalled being scolded by actress Helen Mirren on the set of one of his films: “Helen Mirren came up to me on the set and....she said, ‘You are the most privileged person on Earth’....I said, ‘How can you say that?’ And she said, ‘You are a white male.’”
Co-host Tamron Hall wondered: “And your reply to that was?” Sutherland proclaimed: “There’s no reply. I was ashamed. I was stunned. And I have gotten more ashamed. It's interesting to realize that you are seen as an integral part of a group that many of whom are mendacious, misogynist, of bigots, racists, and it's appalling.”
Hall followed up: “So what do you tell your – you have many, many grandchildren. What do you tell them?...what do you tell them to give them a hopeful view of life?”

There are a heck of a whole lot of white males who feel far, and I mean damn far, from being privileged in this day and age.
When the other groups do something like INVENT WESTERN CIVILIZATION they can be privileged too.
I'd go with 'Archie Bunker' Carrol O'Connor but he had a smaller role.
Given this crap, I can’t see how he was “acting” in either MASH or Animal House. The characters were mirrors of his real life.
Sonny boy, though, I can’t figure out if Jack Bauer or Tom Kirkman is his real identity. Probably says a lot for Kiefer’s abilities...

White male progressives who despise themselves simply need to “self-identify” as something else. Problem solved. Or if they feel too guilty about “racial appropriation” they can just off themselves instead. The latter would be preferable, in fact.

Some people are crazy-making toxic spirits. They poison the minds of the gullible and then they drive everyone else crazy.
My theory is that to be an accomplished actor most must be idiot savants: that is, be absolute low-functioning idiots about nearly everything, except in the area of “acting” to be convince an audience that they are someone and something they are not. The idiot part keeps them from being distracted by reality and facts that could interfere with their role-playing.
Seems to me that the most privileged people are beautiful women. Suppose it depends on what privilege we are talking about.
