LAPD will not help deport immigrants under Trump, chief says
LAT's ^ | 11/14/16 | Kate Mather

Los Angeles Police Chief Charlie Beck said Monday that he has no plans to change the LAPD’s stance on immigration enforcement, despite President-elect Donald Trump’s pledge to toughen federal immigration laws and deport millions of people upon taking office.

For decades, the LAPD has distanced itself from federal immigration policies. The LAPD prohibits officers from initiating contact with someone solely to determine whether they are in the country legally, mandated by a special order signed by then-chief Daryl Gates in 1979. During Beck’s tenure as chief, the department stopped turning over people arrested for low-level crimes to federal agents for deportation and moved away from honoring federal requests to detain inmates who might be deportable past their jail terms.

"...Trump’s pledge to toughen federal immigration laws ..."

What they really mean is to enforce existing federal laws.

Funding will stop, the mayor and all his agencies will feel it. Have a nice day

Oh, they'll just raise taxes some more to compensate.
Because that always works, right?

I lived for a number of years, in Los Angeles, and southern California.

It is TERRIBLE there. Every single restaurant, everywhere, is entirely staffed with people who really, really seem to be illegals.

California is a special case. That is a huge problem, and it will be a big, big project to change things there.

The state is becoming now a minority place. I believe there is no longer a “majority” population from any one race, and it continues to get ever-more so.

That state could become a very big issue, for the administration. Racially this is a big, big potential issue. The state has been at the forefront of quite a huge number of things throughout the years, but it is now becoming a massive immigration mess, especially from Mexico.

Though Chinese immigration, is becoming quite an issue, as well.

I think California is a big, big issue go-forward.

They need the votes.
Why do you think they called California so early?

When the paychecks stop they will suddenly experience the onset of an attitude adjustment.

Far as I am concerned California can cut itself loose. As they are apparently hoping to do.

Can’t wait for him to be arrested and tried for breaking the laws of our nation.

"no funds for you"

Yes, if the Obama administration can force beneficiaries of Federal funds to allow perverts to use the little girls' room, surely Trump can force them to obey US law.

Because of election logistics, almost no recent conservative presidential candidate has even tried very hard to win California (Ronald Reagan was the last). They’re willing to write the whole bloomin’ state off.

Being ignored and neglected, California falls deeper and deeper into the lefties’ hands.

Trump’s going to have a stiff challenge here.

Then we will need a deportation force to do what Sanctury Cities
will not do.

Funding should continue, as certain individuals are prosecuted and go to prison. Let the big mouth high profiles see how much sense their actions made when they are serving long prison sentences.

You don’t get to choose which laws you observe or break Chief.

Haven’t you been telling that to perps for decades?

Why yes you have.

Bottom line, is we have the moral obligation to stop three million illegals from illegally voting, becoming an ethnic voting bloc that pushes their rights over our rights and putting their hands in OUR pockets to further their interests over the common good. Don’t tell me I’m racist for saying this. Don’t gloat over the fact this may be the last election in which Caucasians and others who aren’t in THEIR protected voting bloc can have any say in running the country.

That’s exactly correct .. the LAPD does not have to participate in deporting immigrants.

The Border Patrol will do it .. and they already support Trump and what he’s planning on doing.

The people who are here illegally, are mostly criminals. We should deport them .. and keep them from returning.

They know that won’t ever happen if they are not deputized. 10th Amendment.

However it doesn’t have to happen on the Federal dime, which a Trump regime can purpose for the benefit of Americans and legal visitors.

Give the names of people you arrest to ICE. They can run background to check citizenship. Sending the names can be automated. Your help is not required.

Something leads me to believe that this view will be significantly changing shortly after January 20th.
