The unthinkable has happened – Donald Trump has won. Further, the Republicans have seized control of both chambers of congress. They are planning to unleash a storm of attacks against the most vulnerable in our society. This cannot stand. We need to stand as one and revive the solidarity in the old labor slogan, “an injury to one, is an injury all.” We need to build the fightback to Trump and the Right.
Within hours of Trump being elected, Socialist Alternative with Socialist Students and Movement for the 99% put out the call for mass protests across the country to unite against sexism and racism and to begin building the movement against Trump and the the billionaire class. In less than 24 hours nearly 40,000 people answered our call!
The numbers of people – mostly young people – who attended in each city is electrifying: New York City had 10,000 people; Philadelphia 6,000; Boston 10,000; Seattle 6,000; and Oakland 5,000. Our protests were a top story on newscasts across the country and internationally – from CNN to The Guardian.
This is only the beginning.
Plans are underway for huge nationwide protests around Trump’s inauguration on January 20th and 21st to send a clear message that we reject his right-wing agenda of bigotry and pro-corporate policies. We need to build a grassroots movement against threats to escalate mass deportations of immigrants and a clampdown on muslim communities, among other attacks. Socialist Alternative will be at the forefront of building these demonstrations and organizing broad community coalitions to stand united against bigotry and hate.

I’m glad the violent and stupid Leftists are out there protesting and rioting (this includes Black Bloc and Red Bloc Anarchists). We need more of this in order for the “STUPID” half of America to wake up and see what Obama and his communist/socialist/progressive/Marxists friends, advisor, staffers, and followers have unleashed on our country.
That said, and there will be much more, let’s do something to stop these red bastards, namely call for the immediate recreation of the House Internal Security Committee, give it broader powers to investigate violent groups (they don’t have to be just reds, eithers) and help expose them through televised congressional hearings, reports, and press conferences.
This was done in the past, esp. with the former House Committee on Un-American Activities (HCUA)and its predecessor, the House Special Committee on Un-American Activities (SPCUA). They exposed not only the Communists/Soviet operations, but also the German-American Bund, Japanese Imperialist support groups in the US, and the KKK.
In fact, it was the HCUA televised hearings in the mid-1960’s that destroyed the national power of the KKK, a little known and never reported fact that the mainstream media ignored like the plague.
I don’t want the Senate to have a similar committee because if the Dems ever get control of the Senate, they will abolish the Committee/Subcommittee just as they did the Senate Internal Security Subcommittee of the Sen. Judiciary Committee The SISS was the top congressional investigative body that exposed Soviet worldwide operations including the 29 part “Interlocking Subversion in Government Departments”, 1952-1955; the 17 volume “Strategy and Tactics of World Communism (The Significance of the Matusow Case); and the extremely damaging 90 volume (Part) hearings/reports of “The Scope of Soviet Activity in the United States”, which included the hearings of Communism iN Hawaii involving Barack Obama’s possible mentor, CPUSA member Frank Marshall Davis.
Right now Congress is blind regarding internal security threats from the Marxists, anarchists and black extremists (not to mentions white racist organizations and some rogue “militia” groups).
With their strong hold on the House, the Republicans can really do something this time to expose the Left, including George Soros and his many funding fronts, the rising Workers World Party, Revolutionary Communist Party, Socialist Alternative, New Black Panther Party (hardly worth the effort but they pose a clear and present threat to society), Black Lives Matter (and its affiliated, both in the US and abroad), and the large Democratic Socialists of America who have scores of members and supporters in Congress.
They say that “light” is the best disinfectant for germs, so let’s hit them with all we’ve got and wash them out of the body politique.
Trump hasn’t even been inaugurated yet or signed the first bill or made a single executive action and they are hyperventilating! Shouldn’t they wait to see IF anything changes before they fight the air? They are hired thugs, nothing more, and NOT true Americans interested in what is best for our country. I doubt they will still be doing this in another two months once it gets REALLY cold out. Those who escalate and start rioting, looting, assaulting and destroying should be arrested and tried for sedition.
It’s not that you’re naive. The radicalization of so many citizens is indeed unbelievable.

“Across the country” means in solidly blue states only, and in urban areas only. “Billionaire class” does not include George Soros, who made his money the honest way, with currency manipulations and shaking down Joooos! at the entrance to cattle cars.

Today?
Today most of the younger generations don't know anything at all, FACTUAL, about Marxism, Socialism, and/or Communism. Hell, many believe that all of them are GREAT and GOOD and beat Capitalism by miles. :-( Schools stopped teaching factual American history long ago and forget completely about World History!
And as an aside....

The infantilization of a couple of generations, means that many supposed adults, are still stupid babies, today. Even being out in the “real world” hasn’t made them grow up..into their 30s and for some, beyond.

I almost wonder if the big banks and big business crowd aren’t funneling money to the anti-Trump protest movement.
