TRUMP FOR AMERICA, INC. US14.CAMPAIGN-ARCHIVE1.COM ^ | SENIOR WHITE HOUSE LEADERSHIP TEAM

Posted on 11/13/2016 1:31:13 PM PST by springwater13

President-elect Donald J. Trump today announced that Trump for President CEO Stephen K. Bannon will serve as Chief Strategist and Senior Counselor to the President, and Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus will serve as White House Chief of Staff.

Bannon and Priebus will continue the effective leadership team they formed during the campaign, working as equal partners to transform the federal government, making it much more efficient, effective and productive. Bannon and Priebus will also work together with Vice President-elect Mike Pence to help lead the transition process in the run-up to Inauguration Day.

“I am thrilled to have my very successful team continue with me in leading our country,” said President-elect Trump. “Steve and Reince are highly qualified leaders who worked well together on our campaign and led us to a historic victory. Now I will have them both with me in the White House as we work to make America great again.”

Reince Priebus is a dickless wonder as far as I’m concerned. There are so many better people for this job.

Amen to that. This guy will duck his tail between his legs when challenged, cower in the corner and wet himself.

looks good, ignore the grumpy haters.

Here we go again. Anyone with a difference of opinion is thrown into the circle of a "grumpy hater".

That is the way dictatorships work but we still have the First Amendment don't we?

Well, don't we?

What do you me I am banned again?

If enough reps get the message that Trump wants him gone, he’ll be gone. Are you really expecting me to believe that Ryan-Walker-Priebus were NOT behind that Billy Bush video? When their responses were so quick and coordinated? Do you think we’ll forget that treachery? The reason Preibus got this secretarial position is so the the real powers can keep an eye on these despicable, cowardly Wisconsins.

Think the Cucks are calling us grumpy. I’m a lot worse than grumpy about the Bush trube’s video treachery.

The last thing we want to be are “hover voters,” telling Mr. Trump whom to choose, what to do, and when to do it. (even though he is not using ALL of us for advisors)

Give the man some space. ;)

Prayer and hard work works. God bless all FReepers and others who never stumbled or faltered or bugged out this election. Trumps starters just may make the 1927 Yankees lo like a bunch of pansy small ballers.

Folks need to remember what the chief of staff position actually does - keep the president’s calendar, keep the staff in line and coordinate with outsiders. You need a good man to do it, but he doesn’t make policy and he doesn’t run the agencies.

This is the kind of information I find useful. It certainly makes it clear why Newt wouldn't be chosen for (or want) the job; it wouldn't call on his strengths. He can be far more useful elsewhere.

Nobody wants to sit here on FR for the coming months and years with an unprecedended opportunity to put this nation back on the right track and have to read endless threads of second-guessing every decision the man makes by people who don’t have the facts and aren’t privvy to the decision-making process. You either trust Trump and his team, or you don’t.

Hear, hear. Everyone's entitled to their opinions, of course, but the language and ad hominems on this thread remind me of Democrats. I appreciate the FReepers who make objective, rational arguments in adult language and refrain from liberal-style malice.

No. I am not a conspiracy theorist, especially in a tape that is 15 years old, so I don't think they are behind the tape's release. I really don't think Ryan sabotaged his own party since that would directly affect the party's standing in the House.

I do believe Paul Ryan thought the tape eliminated Trump's chances. But I also think that makes him gutless. Democrats stick together regardless, while Republicans scatter.

As far as Trump influencing the Speaker's vote - you may be right. The situation may be such that Trump can make a difference in the vote, but I also think that really poisons the water whether or not Ryan wins. I think far more influential are the reps' constituents. If enough reps get the message that their constituents want Ryan gone, then he will no longer be Speaker - and that is fine with me. I want Ryan gone myself.

He is not the leader the House needs at the moment. Let him return to the Budget committee, which is a job he loved and let him do that and let another member lead. I'm sure Ryan's constituents are happy with him and that's fine, but I want someone else to be Speaker.

I just don't think Trump himself can boss around so many reps that have major egos themselves. That is because the Speaker's vote is an intramural contest and the vote is personal to the reps. This is the person THEY want to lead them, while Trump's choice is secondary to them. Most all of the reps do not owe Trump anything. They were there before Trump was and many will be there after Trump leaves office.

A call from a reps' constituent is more effective in conveying that message. My rep is hopeless and loves Ryan, but I will try anyway.

On a larger point, I am really with you. Ryan really needs to go. Ryan really isn't a leader. I must confess that I am a later Trumpster. I will say it was only about two months ago that I recognized Trump as a leader. I'm not sure why it took so long for me to understand that, but it did. It took me that long to understand that Trump is the only person that can actually make a change in Washington, so I do want someone as Speaker who can push it along.

So, whatever it takes. I can see Trump talking with Ryan and ask him to think about dropping out if Trump does not think Ryan has it.

I don't know who wants to be Speaker. I have not seen any names in the press and I recall that no one wanted it after Boehner. Ryan had to be pressured to take the job.

Anyway, this is a very long and meandering way to say I am with you on this, but not certain how it is going to get done.

Mark Meadows would be better than Ryan. Another one that needs to go is McCarthy, house majority leader. Thanks for the essay. There is a lot of dirt that needs to be washed concerning Sasse, Ryan and the way Hastert made his departure. That Ryan ran out and did his denouncing dance over Trump's silly remarks when he stayed silent over Hastert is a curious thing.

My own Trump story...when the South Carolina primaries were upon us, I was pondering...Cruz/Trump/Carson, back and forth. It was also when Scalia died, Obama sneered at his death and I was feeling down and scared.

Then Trump came out with "Y'know--Obama would have gone to Scalia's funeral if it was held in a mosque!" At that moment, this defiance lifted my spirits and I became a loyal Trumpian.

Unlike Nevada and Colorado, Ohio voted for Trump. However, the Party was of limited help. So, time to go run for precinct committeeman.

The name Reince is probably a family name made into a first name, like the name Joy Morton, a male, had. His mother’s maiden last name was Joy. (We’re related to that family too.) My great grandmother had a brother named Masury (looks like misery to me) He was named after a grandmother’s maiden name. By the way Masury is an ancestor of Hugh Hefner, which makes me a third or fourth cousin to Hefner, whom I have never met, by the way.

Very interesting .. thanks for that  :-)

That was my supposition about it too, but someone upthread who sounded like they knew what they were on about said that it's more likely a shortening of the German Reinhold.

Or somethin' like that .. lol

What about the Trump hotel in DC? It’s been very recently refurbished and he could set things up the way he wants. He would have more control over security etc than the WH which might be compromised because more people are likely to know all the security details at the WH from past administrations.
But, I’m sure that the WH is a virtual bunker and there’s probably an internal route to a real bunker that could sustain a pretty big hit.

Reince is a nickname for Reinhold. Priebus is also German. Reince Priebus also has Greek heritage.
