Ben Carson said he would help President-elect Donald Trump construct a replacement to Obamacare. I think the replacement must obviously come first and it must be something that is very appealing and easy to understand, he told Politico Wednesday. And then, only then, would you dismantle whats in place.
Carson declined to say whether he was being considered for a Cabinet position, but Politico reports that his name is being floated as a possible candidate for positions such as secretary of health and human services or secretary of education.
Trump campaigned on replacing Obamacare with a simpler, cheaper alternative that has less government regulation.

The current law has to be destroyed and replaced with brand new legislation and HR designation. If there are parts and pieces that are private enterprise / free maket centric, then those pieces can be part of the new legislation.
Besides, then Trump can put his brand on it. :-)
“Trumpcare” doesn’t have to look anything like that. It does have to make its way among a veritable electrical supply shop of political third rails. Here, you go take Trump’s place and say the plan is to throw healthcare from overregulation onto anarchy.
Whatever the Republicans write, Congress needs to be subject to it. And the President. And every single federal government employee. No special privileges in a country where nobody is above the law.
Ben Carson is as smart as a box of rocks.
Trump should give him a shiny toy and keep him away from anything consequential.
TrumpCare!
Yes.
I quite like this guy and did during your republican primaries. Could Trump have made him VP or is it verboten according to your laws? Apologies for my admitted ignorance of your electoral process, but darn it’s really interesting stuff, I’m fascinated by how you run your show, I think it’s wicked, especially when you send your lefties into such a state of histrionic lunacy! Damn, no one drives their lefties crazier than you guys, it’s epic and almost magical, good on ya! I’m serious, this must be the most intense Lexie meltdown I have ever seen provoked ever.
No! No! No! I was only kidding!!!
He’s a doctor with a long history in private business, he has had to deal with all manner of financing and payment hassles. Guaranteed he’s no stupider about this than the average practitioner down the street from you, plus he has the political creds.
Lexie = leftie
PAIN control is a big chronic disease problem. DUMBO is treating very sick people like criminal Junkies, we are having to pee in a cup at $300+ a month and go to Pain Management another useless doctor who has no idea how to treat the disease or what it takes to control the pain.

Doctors Earn $3.5 Billion in Kickbacks from Pharmaceutical Companies

These are the new expensive drugs, when older more reliable ones with less side effects are being trashed and forgotten. Crestor was made #1 with a slick multi-million ad campaign, not that it was a better drug, has more side effects, cost tons more than the old Pravachol (pravastatin) which is now a generic and works with less side effects and cost a small fraction of what Crestor does.
Neurotin or Gabapentin (generic) is scheduled to be added to the list of NO drugs by the DEA in 2017. Lyrica is in the same family TONS of side effects and Way more ADDICTIVE than NORCO, Valium, or Percosets. Imagine having cancer and having pain meds restricted and peeing in a cup every month at age 65? NO GRANNY can’t have pain pills now!
Just the thought of living in a new American revival has got this old guy smiling and feeling GREAT!
Blood pressure is lower too :-)
WOO-HOO!!
That is idiotic. Absolutely moronic. Words could not embrace the concept of how much negative thought that represents.
I totally agree. My understanding is that “TrumpCare” will be characterized by free markets and a lack of government intrusion. Having said that, we need to be vigilant.

He fits the descriptions included in the following comments:
"We, the People" must be equipped to distinguish and between the principles that would keep America free and prosperous and the false premises that will enslave her, as well as able to articulate them. Accommodating tyranny by failing to call it what it is is dangerous. We need a leader whose words are strong and courageous and based in the principles of our Declaration of Independence.Although Ben Carson's academic and work background were in the medical field, he is a man for all seasons in the ongoing human struggle for liberty, because he has cared enough about it to study its foundations, as well as the opposing ideas of tyranny. His contribution to a new administration may be profound.American citizens need to wake up to the counterfeit ideas and false "hopes" offered by politicians who use "promises," just as the rest of us use "currency."
They buy votes with "promises" in order to gain power to themselves and their ilk. Then, when "hopes" are dashed, "the people" they have promised to help (the naive, the poor, the ignorant--even the "educated" who are ignorant of liberty vs. tyranny) find themselves enslaved, working for those who have purchased their power in the most despicable manner--by offering "hope and change." Thus it has ever been.
The people who founded America were not so "dumbed down." Hear two of them:
"It is proper to take alarm at the first experiment on our liberties. We hold this prudent jealousy to be the first duty of citizens and one of the noblest characteristics of the Revolution. The freemen of America did not wait till usurped power had strengthened itself by exercise and entangled the question in precedents. They saw all the consequences in the principle [usurpation of power] and they avoided the consequences by denying the principle. We revere this lesson too much . . . to forget it." - James Madison
" . . . nip the shoots of arbitrary power in the bud, is the only maxim which can ever preserve the liberties of any people. When the people give way, their deceivers, betrayers, and destroyers press upon them so fast, that there is no resisting afterwards. The nature of the encroachment upon the American constitution is such, as to grow every day more and more encroaching. Like a cancer, it eats faster and faster every hour. The revenue creates pensioners, and the penshioners urge for more revenue. The people grow less steady, spirited, and virtuous, the seekers more numerous and more corrupt, and every day increases the circles of their dependents and expectants, until virtue, integrity, public spirit, simplicity, and frugality, become the objects of ridicule and scorn, and vanity, lusury, foppery, selfishness, meanness and downright venality swallow up the whole society." - John Adams
Further, it was not just the founding leaders who were well-informed about their constitution and approaching threats to its protections. By the Year 1830, when the French jurist Tocqueville traveled America, he wrote admiringly of the citizenry, observing that even the backwoodsman was far more well-read and informed than those in other parts of the world, and that they understood their Constitution, and had with them a Bible and a newspaper. Sadly, beginning in the mid-20th Century, our "government" schools removed the ideas of liberty from the nation's textbooks, largely under the guise of a counterfeit idea of "separation of church and state," and the citizenry is uninformed as to the difference between tyranny and liberty.
Today, with all modern means of communication, Americans possess little understanding of threats to their liberty and, thus, risk losing it to charlatans whose only goal is power.
Can’t recall who it was saying on the radio Wednesday, but they were claiming that Ben Sasse is THE go-to guy and resident expert on healthcare and they were wondering how Trump could ever work with him, given the obnoxious #neverTrump comments out of Sasse.
Trump needs to find another go-to guy in the Senate and tell Sasse to STFU
How could some absolute moron and troll advocate for shutting doctors out of this picture! Like they are some zombie slaves or something rather than bearers of a very distinguished mantle!
Fine Dr. Ben, but please just stay off the air. Live interviews do not show you in your best light. Your Skill Set, while completely impressive, doesn’t do well responding in a spontaneous manner.
Doubtless a whole sub-swamp of corruption and lies sits right there to be drained.
Who’s going to advise sanely about this again... except doctors?!?
Whatever IDIOT said that folks like Ben Carson have no role here... ought to hang his head in shame.
