Ben Carson said he would help President-elect Donald Trump construct a replacement to Obamacare. I think the replacement must obviously come first and it must be something that is very appealing and easy to understand, he told Politico Wednesday. And then, only then, would you dismantle whats in place.
Carson declined to say whether he was being considered for a Cabinet position, but Politico reports that his name is being floated as a possible candidate for positions such as secretary of health and human services or secretary of education.
Trump campaigned on replacing Obamacare with a simpler, cheaper alternative that has less government regulation.

As long as you don’t put grain in those pyramids...
Just poking fun. God speed you Ben. This has to make sense for doctors, obviously.
With regard to the WSJ article on keeping parts of Obamacare, I am a health actuary and it is crap. Remember, the media will now try to get you to abandon your support of the President-elect. Stay the course.
The shrewdness factor is strong with this one - Trump.
You know good and well Trump and Dr Carson have talked at length about this...shrewd to the nth degree.
Let the MSM tell the black doctor he doesn’t know anything about this. Racist liberal pigs, every one of them.
There are a couple things that need done... the new system, and the scaffolding to keep some kind of health care process going while changing over from the old system to the new.
Health insurance and hospitals loved it, until it started “working.”
This is going to be a fun 4-8 years bringing all these great conservative minds together to firmly establish freedom and liberty and especially common sense to eliminate or stifle liberal rule for a generation or two.
There is a lot to be done. The team they are putting together knows what it is doing.
Block-grant Medicaid/Medicare to the states and let them run the programs. Most, if not all, states have some type of healthcare plan for the poor and seniors already (Badgercare here in WI, for example). Allow the states to use the money for people who lost coverage under Obamacare, and for pre-existing conditions. Then turn the rest of healthcare over to the free market.
The Republicans, especially the freedom caucus, has had alternatives for years. They won’t be starting from scratch.
Ben is a surgeon, not an actuary, accountant, tax expert, etc. This is a numbers game, not an operating room.
NO replacement! Complete repeal.
I second that.
Yes.
And it warms my heart to think about the respect Donald Trump showed him when he stood beside Ben Carson, refusing to move until Dr. Carson heard his name called.
THAT is a class act and a gentleman I am proud to call MY PRESIDENT.
For the first time in 8+ years, I am proud of my President.
I never thought that Ben Carson would be any good at being a President...I like him a s person and a physician, but not as a politician.
But I think a role that takes advantage of his talents would be a good thing. He is a smart guy, and he knows medicine.
No, No, No!
We did not want HillaryCare, or RomneyCare or Obamacare or TrumpCare. We do NOT want the government taking over 1/6th of the economy.
He is a doctoring expert, and shall we forget the doctors in a discussion about medical plans?
And Dr Carson knows God, at the Republican convention, he told America Dems worship Satan, Sal Alinsky an Wickie Leaks proved that
