If you voted for Donald Trump, you may not feel welcomed at Grubhub.

The CEO of Grubhub, an online food delivery service, sent a company wide email Wednesday suggesting employees who agree with President-elect Donald Trump’s behaviors and his campaign rhetoric should resign.

“If you do not agree with this statement then please reply to this email with your resignation because you have no place here,” wrote Matt Maloney, Co-Founder of Grubhub. “We do not tolerate hateful attitudes on our team."

I would instead ask him if he talked to his company's attorney before making such a pronouncement.

The state may have a law prohibiting discrimination against someone due to their political beliefs. An employer can control what an employee does on company premises, on company time. But outside that, it's a gray area, depending on the state.

Illinois doesn't have a specific prohibition against it, but they do have a law that:

Prevents an employer from gathering or keeping a record of an employee's associations, political activities, publications, communications or non-employment activities, unless the employee submits the information in writing or authorizes the employer in writing to keep or gather the information.

Unbelievable. “Employees who agree with President-elect Donald Trump’s behaviors and his campaign rhetoric should resign.”

Look in the mirror, boss man, you are the one who is intolerant and filled with hate.

Even better than lawsuits would be if his entire workforce walked out on him. Run the place by yourself ya friggin' bigot.

Then sue the crap out of him to boot!

There’s a reason for secret ballots. All they have to do is say they voted for Stein. How would the boss know different? Ridiculous.

Hmmmf. He’s in Chicago. Build The Wall...around Chicago. Illinois would be better for that.

(I see GrubHub stock is down 4 points today. YAY)

Firing a clinton worshipper would more likely be the rational dispensation of situation for most well managed businesses. But we know that is not an option so judicial hiring as practiced in friendship and association is the prudent course of action. They are easy to spot.

How biblical of him. Just a small glimpse of what is to come. Does he think his number 666?

Revelation 13:17

“And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.”

Of course you could argue that this leftist schmuck would learn the lesson of having a real free market if he WERE sued for “Wrongful Termination” and compelled by government to keep employees that he loathes.

We’ve been the nice guys for too long...use the lefts own ridiculous laws against them.

I totally agree. While I don't condone such Arbitrary Law, I do condone striking back at such treatment in order to send a political message, as long as such laws remain on the books.

The lawyers should be smelling the blood in the water.

Big league! Every employee who gets terminated, laid off, and those who don't get promotions, raises, vacations can all claim the company was targeting them because of who they voted for. This is colossal stupidity.

Did you see this guys photo? The CEO's appearance fits a perfect profile of some smug spoiled arrogant child who's angry because things didn't go his way.
