The Latest: The latest developments in the US elections
The Associated Press ^ | 11/8/2016

The Associated Press is keeping a page of running updates and stories about the election. Below is the latest update since this was posted:

9:20 a.m.

Lines were long in some places, but few voters heading to the polls early Tuesday appeared to be encountering problems.

Presidential elections usually include sporadic voting problems, such as machines not working properly. Calls to Election Protection, a national voter helpline, included people reporting long lines as a result of machine problems in three precincts in Virginia. And election officials at a handful of precincts in Durham County, North Carolina, were using paper roll books after technical issues with computer check-in.

Ahead of the election, there was anxiety over whether voters would face problems. Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said the election was rigged and Democrats warned that Republicans were planning to intimidate voters. There were also concerns about hackers disrupting election systems.

It looks like a lot of people on the ground in Philly are sending in reports, shedding light on what’s already going on there - Trump watchers being thrown out of polling stations,(one because he was deaf), machines not allowing someone to select Trump/Pence, one instance of a machine that already had votes on it being used. When the Trump poll watcher demanded they don’t use the machine, he was ejected from the polling station...

I hope there is something that can be done, but it probably won’t happen until the count is in for Philly. If it happens in Pittsburgh and other larger cities, PA may be lost won by the bitch, because of fraud.

When Trump talks about a “rigged election”, he may well be speaking to those voters who think they cannot make a difference with their one little vote. However, hundred/thoudands/millions of water droplets make up a tsunami.

Trump also knows that the reason why dems pursue voter fraud so wantonly is that the GOP will not (perhaps cannot - because of a stupid consent decree) pursue remedy for it.

Finally, given what we know happened in the dem primary process, NOT talking about a “rigged election” is an act of accepting a fraudulent election.

You may be right that Trump thinks people will identify with him by saying the election is rigged. However it can reinforce people’s beliefs that they can’t make a difference in a rigged system. Or maybe it is an emotional ploy. Dunno. I just know it makes no logical sense to say it if Trump really thinks he will win.

Everyone has the same ballot for the general election — ballots are not by party, so I’m not sure what you mean.

He was CERTAIN Romney had it in 2012. I watched him election night, melting away.

So, this is good news.

It is pure Dem/NeverTrump BS designed to suppress turnout. Total garbage.

OK. The office is alive with cheering right now - that it is pretty much over for Trump. Hope not.

This is nonsense, there are no counts generated by the machines until voting closes. They want us to believe they know what the results are before the polls close, using some bogus number like with 55 % of the expected vote in, Hillary will win 48 - 45 % this swing state.

I thought at first it might be a bogus exit poll. This is just intended to discourage Trump voters getting home from work to vote

From the site, with it’s ominous music and everything - “With 74.9 percent of expected votes cast in Florida, VoteCastr’s model predicts that Clinton has a four-point lead in the famously divided state.”

The key word is model, which means it’s conjecture. The idea that 74.9 % of the vote if FL is already cast is nonsense.

Yes I saw that too. Is this even legal? I’m surprised such outright deception is not something that can be prosecuted.

Did Trump say the election was rigged or did he say the system was rigged?

I would love for Trump to win—and then immediately start setting up a new party for his reelection. That IMO is the only way a real GOP alternative would be successfully launched.

AAAaaaaahhhhhh......I’ve had this tagline for so long, I forgot what it was. I’ve been so giddy this last week, I don’t know what to change it too. I’ll think of something.

Ah, I see you probably meant sample ballots. I didn’t know anyone would stand in line for the sample.

I returned to my polling place 4 - 5 pm, walked the dogs. Very quiet there compared to 2012 when we had to park on the grass. No one parked on the back lot this time. Plenty of parking out front. Very strange.
