Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, who has indicated in recent days that he thinks Minnesota is his to win, will make his first public visit to the state Sunday.

“We’re going to Minnesota,” Trump said at a rally in Florida, according to reporters who were there. Trump’s Minnesota campaign confirmed the visit.

Minnesota Republican Party Chairman Keith Downey said the rally will be at 2 p.m. at the Sun Country hangar at the Minneapolis-St. Paul airport, according to initial information from the Trump campaign.

Didn't our P-51 pilots on the return from their Bomber escorts have the ability to freelance and go after targets if they saw them? Her defenses are weak, even in a home territory like MN, so why not metaphorically strafe it?

It is all about the EV's at this point, running the table and getting them sends a singal to the Reps and Senators their. In other words, shut up Al Franken, get aboard the reduction in Corp Tax rates and vote yes for MN or we can get a candidate who will run against you hard that is Pro-Trump next time...

good decision for two reasons:

1. the Twin Cities area includes the western part of Wisconsin, so he is overlassping with that demographic.

2. Minnesota is trending more Republican. But it is impossible to ever get any momentum when MN is ignored every 4 years and we see the candidates only going to about 5-7 states over and over again.

I wish the electoral college was assigned to one vote per congressional district - whomever carries the district gets that vote; and then whomever carries the total vote for a state, gets 2 additional votes. Seems like a more even handed way of settling the electoral collage and it would force the candidates to campaign all over the country.

Brilliant move. Even if he doesn’t win Minnesota...it will freak out the left.

This visit will also impact NW Wisconsin.

I don’t know if Sheriff Clarke would have name recognition in Minnesota, Milwaukee is nearby. The same may well pertain to other name politicians in Wisconsin and elsewhere.

THe things you point out are more important, but it would say something about America in the late 20th century if she symbolically preferred Reagan to Nixon—just as it said something in 1820 when an elector opted to not vote for Monroe on the grounds that Washington alone deserved the honour of unanimity.

I haven’t read the whole article, so I don’t know if they are appearing together or what, but Pence also will campaign in MN.

“FOXNEWS seems to be as bad as the rest.”

SEEMS? They are as far into the tank for Hitlary as are their MSM competitors. I hope they are out of business by this time next year.

I just don’t buy it. He can’t get enough votes to overcome the voter fraud that is part of the absolute foundation of Minnesota politics. A Republican in a statewide race in Minnesota has to get 60% of the vote to make it close or an issue of turnout.

Thanks for letting us know about the internal polling of his campaign. It also sends a confident message to the entire country two days before we vote. Smart. He’s as strategic as a war general.

Not sure what to think about this. Could be gamesmanship, could be close. I really hope he doesn’t end up losing with a lot of narrow losses. Then again, maybe visiting NC or FL for a 85th time isn’t worthwhile. If he’s going up to Michigan so maybe it’s worth the stop.

Pundits, not all of course, have said for awhile that MN was in play.

Power Line Blog originates out of MN I think.

Minnesota demographically still is very white. That might have something to do with it, really, white majority states, 80 or 85% or more, should be attracted to Trump.

Instead of the folks that want to turn us into a 3rd world country.

Records show Minnesota last voted Republican in 1928.
