Polls show narrowing race Polls show narrowing race 11 Hours Ago | 03:25
A new poll from Quinnipiac University shows a tight presidential race in battleground states, with Donald Trump appearing to gain some ground.
Hillary Clinton's October momentum came "to a halt" in the QU swing state poll, according to a Wednesday afternoon release, which said the Democrat had seen her leads shrink slightly in Florida and North Carolina. Trump, meanwhile, vaulted into a 5-point lead in Ohio in the latest poll.
"No one has been elected president since 1960 without carrying two of the key swing states, Florida, Ohio and Pennsylvania. And, this year, North Carolina has been added to the mix. All four of these key states remain close entering the final days," Peter Brown, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Poll, said in a release.
The most recent poll was conducted between Oct. 27 and Nov. 1. On Oct. 28, the FBI disclosed that it was probing newly discovered emails related to Clinton's use of a private server, potentially altering the course of the race.
Here are the results of the Quinnipiac four-way poll, which included Trump, Clinton, Libertarian Party candidate Gary Johnson and Green party candidate Jill Stein.
Florida: Clinton had 46 percent to Trump's 45 percent, with 2 percent each for Johnson and Stein. Clinton had led Trump 48 - 44 percent on Oct. 17.
North Carolina: Clinton had 47 percent to Trump's 44 percent, with 3 percent for Johnson. Clinton had led Trump 47 - 43 percent on Oct. 27.
Ohio: Trump had 46 percent to Clinton's 41 percent, with 5 percent for Johnson and 2 percent for Stein. Clinton and Trump were tied 45 - 45 percent on Oct. 17.
Pennsylvania: Clinton had 48 percent to Trump's 43 percent, with 3 percent for Johnson and 3 percent for Stein. Clinton had led Trump 47 - 41 percent on Oct. 17.
According to Quinnipiac, the margin of error was 3.9 percentage points in Florida and 4 points in the other three battleground surveys.
Land Shark slide.
I don’t trust a single poll this cycle... saw a recent VA poll indicating Trump was 4 pts down... sampled +17 Dem and +17 Obama-vs-Romney... don’t know what the registration is in VA, but I know the 2012 race was a heck of a lot closer than 17pts!
This poll is rubbish.
I tend to agree with you about NC.
While Quinnipiac is generally a pretty good pollster, the real takeaway for me is that Trump has made big gains in their poll as well.
It is still close, but it looks like Trump has all the momentum heading to the finish line.
In the realm of reality, Trump is not making gains.
Trump has always been this far ahead.
As Rush has been stating, the polling companies had to start drawing Hillary’s expectations down before next week, or come off looking out of touch with reality.
So now they are finally giving Trump the credit he was due all along.
Trump will lead more toward the weekend, and by next Tuesday, he’s going to mop up.
I he wins OH by 5 he wins the Pop vote and the presidency
Over half the electorate in NC was born outside the state. This is not our parents South.
Correct. Very similar dynamic. The manure pile covering Clinton continues to grow and in the end will cost her ~5% of her support. Also blacks are not supporting Hillary at the 95% level they supported Obama. If she gets less than 90% in North Carolina and Virginia, then she cannot win those states. If she gets less than 85% of the black vote in Virginia, it will go for Trump.
Without the AA vote no Southern State goes Hillary.
Quinnipiac’s weighted sample for FL was D+8 and 56% female. NC was D+6 and 54% female. PA was D+6 and 53% Female. OH was D+3 and 52% female. https://poll.qu.edu/2016-presidential-swing-state-polls/release-detail?ReleaseID=2399
I believe the Hitlery camp has set it’s sights on Florida for the brunt of their election shenanigans. I think they are trying to stuff the ballot boxes in the heavy Dem districts. I think Ohio has moved outside of the realm of “close enough to steal”
Fox News with the brilliant analyst Karl Rove says Hillary still has FL!
