3 competing theories on why the FBI re-opened the Hillary email server investigation

There is no question that re-opening the FBI Investigation into Hillary Clinton’s email server is a big deal. The FBI normally avoids acting just before an election in order to avoid charges of political manipulation. NBC reports:

The FBI is reviewing a new batch of Hillary Clinton emails, bureau director James Comey said in a letter to the Senate Judiciary Committee on Friday.

"In connection with an unrelated case, the FBI has learned of the existence of emails that appear to be pertinent to the investigation … I agreed that the FBI should take appropriate investigative steps designed to allow investigators to review these emails to determine whether they contain classified information, as well as to assess their importance to our investigation," he wrote.

The very first thing to note is that Comey made no mention of a grand jury. The emails whose existence he learned of may have been the result of a subpoena in another investigation. If that is the case, further subpoenas are quite possible, a tool that was left unused in the investigation to date.

There are 3 competing theories as to why he might be doing this now that come to mind.

He might be seeking to restore his badly damaged reputation, recognizing that the damage he has inflicted on the FBI is substantial. Three days ago, American Thinker published an open letter from a retired FBI Agent, Hugh

Wouldn’t the FBI have to file these emails as evidence before the same emails are released by Wikileaks?

Suppose the Wikileaks copy of the emails were released before the incriminating ones on the phone were submitted. Wouldn’t those emails have out be thrown out of court since they were released to the public by “dubious” means before they were formally submitted as evidence?

That might be why the FBI had to do what it did today. This would seem to indicate that #1 on the list in this article is correct.

No matter what, this puts Hillary into a sort of checkmate ... I don’t think this can be thrown under the rug and if the Clinton camp truly doesn’t know what the FBI has, then she’s finished. They won’t be able to spin this at all.

My guess is that all discussion is clamped down while there is a pending investigation and then Hillary is cleared of all wrongdoing

There is not enough time for that scenario to play out.

Plus, the discussion can't be clamped down. There is still Wikileaks and all manner of speculation.

All that can be clamped down is official disclosures. And there will be no judge's instructions to guide the voters' presumption. Anything not disclosed will be presumed bad, possibly worse than it really is.

What's not to like?

My question is what other potentially damaging info does the dnc have on Trump? If they’ve got it they will play it to get this story off the news.

My theory: The original strategy of the Clinton campaign was to save the "sexual assault" allegations until the Friday before the election, ensuring maximum coverage and giving the Trump campaign no time to refute the charges. When all of the Wikileaks revelations started coming out, they were forced to play the sexual assault card much earlier than planned in order to divert attention away from Wikileaks. If the Clinton campaign does have any other "scandal" that they've been saving, they will now play it this weekend to try to counter the FBI decision to reopen the email investigation.

It is almost certain that it is some variation of #3. There is information that is going to come out via Trump, Wikileaks, some FBI agent with a thumb drive handed to Drudge, James O’Keefe or whoever that is beyond Comey’s control.

Blackmail with an agreement not to release the material is at least a 50/50 bet. My hope is that it is coming out anyway and this is the best that Obama and his slaves who run Justice and the FBI are just doing the best they can to get out in front of the story. That would be sweet.

Intellesting times, velly intellesting.

“But, another possibility: one or more FBI whistleblowers are talking to Congress already, and it was about to explode.

Making this announcement now got Congress to give Comey a little longer to bury it until after the election. “

That seems to be most likely, it’s getting the most play from “former FBI” types on the new shows.

Regardless, it’s over for Hillary, this will keep many at home on election day and move plenty of Indies to Trump.

James Comey was sitting in his office caught like a rat in a trap contemplating his upcoming prosecution under a Trump Administration as his cover up of the Hillary Clinton e mail Server FBI investigation spins wildly out of control.

The in walks a team of FBI agents with news from the Gods that will solve his dilemma and save his worthless ass.

Anthony Weiner has provided FBI evidence that will allow Comey to open up the FBI investigation with totally unrelated evidence sources from an FBI investigation.

Hallelujah , he is saved.

“She won’t drop out voluntarily, so this is the Hail Mary pass to get her off the ticket, and replace her with someone more palatable.”

You can’t replace her now - it isn’t possible. Millions have voted around the country, and millions more will do so by Monday or Tuesday. You can’t print that many ballots that quickly. Besides, many states have laws against that (though, clearly, New Jersey does not). Finally, if a goodly number of ballots were already cast for Clinton, and she CAN be replaced instantaneously by Candidate X (Crazy Uncle Joe??), then Candidate X will not have enough votes to win ANY state. Trump will have an incredible landslide, bigger than Nixon or Reagan.

——they will now play it this weekend-—

Too late.

It will not play and the presstitutes do not dare go along as usual.

It is over

Comey has concluded Trump will win, and his will be the first name taken and ass kicked.

This could well be part of the equation ... but I believe pressure within the FBI forced his hand as well ... moral in the FBI ranks is abysmal.

As an aside; it's now being pushed by the liberal MSM that Comey is a Republican ... you know where they are going with that ... stay tuned.

My theory is that with the seizure of Carlos Danger’s device in connection with his sexting of an underage girl, and Huma’s filing for divorce, in an effort to save his stink weasel ass, he’s spilling the beans in order to save face and give him leverage in the upcoming divorce..............

You can’t replace her now - it isn’t possible. Millions have voted around the country, and millions more will do so by Monday or Tuesday.

Voters are casting their ballots for electors.

The electors can cast their ballot for any candidate on the Democrat ticket.

“Rush Limbaugh today discussed an alternative theory, that by announcing an FBI Investigation resuming, Comey is putting a lid on further attention to Wikileaks”.

Rush is a Rino Sheepdog, who’s job it is to coral the base into the GOP hands...

Plenty he could do with Comey.

Have his AG appoint Special Prosecutor to look into Comey’s handling of this case, including any malfeasance or conflicts.

Reassign him to new office space in the sub-basement without WiFi or air conditioning.

Etc. etc.

What's not to like?

I like that this just reaffirms "crooked Hillary" but I don't expect this crowd to go down quietly. There is too much as stake for them: vast power and wealth v. economic and political ruin. We'll probably see a few more "suicides" and "accidents" and if the Trump supporters are expecting any favors from Comey they will be disappointed. The official statement already was that they found additional emails that needed to be reviewed. I fully expect a "nothing to see here" from Comey just before election day which will be the only thing in the news cycle. Comey knows it is that or an invitation to Fort Marcy Park.
