He fought the good fight against ‘Dungeons and Dragons’ and poor guys being unwittingly initiated into Satanic cults for some free lumber.

I seem to remember that Jack Chick’s tracts were banned from Free Republic Religion Forum.
I still have his graphic magazines that were considered pretty controversial back in the 70’s. Very informative.

I particularly remember one of his tracts which argued that the TV show Bewitched was satanic because it made witchcraft look attractive and harmless.
Seemed silly. Then I realized that virtually everyone associated with that show died before their time of something awful.
When ever I encountered his tracts out and about, I was drawn to open and read them.
They were very thought-provoking and effective.

I have read many of his tracts over the years. Simple, but life-altering publications. RIP Mr. Chick.
Half the people in my gaming group had a copy of the D&D tract in their set. It was a right of passage to read that during the game. Kind of like watching Reefer Madness stoned, it’s something you had to do at least once.
Chick wasn’t very kind to Catholics... and probably wouldn’t have been any kinder to C. S. Lewis.
That’s the problem when one is from a denomination that is dedicated to fighting things doctrinaire, only to get doctrinaire oneself. It’s about the easiest error in the book.
If I were to cartoon an evangelical outreach, I think it would look different from Jack Chick’s and would be extremely Jesus centered in theme, and denomination-blind. I just don’t believe in getting wrought up in “The Death Cookie” kind of brouhaha.
Chick was right about the dangers of popularizing witchcraft fifty years ago.
