(Vanity) Be not afraid

Posted on 10/24/2016 9:06:20 AM PDT by MagillaX

Just was listening to the radio looking for another channel since Glen Beck is no longer an option. And came across a Christian radio program and they were talking about where do we go from here. As a side note please remember there is a lot of fear around.

The host asked the guest what do we do going forward as American Christians and he said be sure to know your constitution. The host asked why would that matter the courts do what ever they want regardless of the constitution. He then started to mention about teaching the children and the host interrupted and said but they are all attached to video games with instant gratification and do not take the time to even think about things. The the host asked again where do we go from here. There was not quick response.

Of course pray and I am sure they knew that but the host was asking in a practical way since our society has seen the break down of social norms that were the foundation of our society not very long ago.

And that takes us to this election. Some people are ignorant of the ramifications of this election. But many are not with the continued decay of our culture and the consequences of a rouge US government not only on us but on the world at large.

Scary stuff and that is why so many are afraid and in many ways rightfully so. But then again we who are Christians know God created the United States as a gift to the world. We and those before us only participated in it. God could create another if he wanted and he can take it away if he so desires.

Yes the direction of our culture and values and even our freedom will hinge on this point in time. But this country has gone though these before and God has seen fit to grant us the grace to continue this great country.

God thoughts are not ours and his ways we do not know. Yes I do believe he will intervene on the behalf of all the good people in this country. But if he doesn't it will be because it is in the best interest of our children and their children that he does not. And we should find peace in knowing that and knowing he does all for our good.

Knowing the bible is even better.

Almost any constitution will suffice if a people has their heart set on God.

The US Constitution is unique for placing the People above the government, and acknowledging Rights as gifts granted directly from God.

Those principles cannot be replaced by anything else.

Our Constitution embodied a UNIQUE IDEA. Nothing like it had ever been done before. The power of the idea was in the recognition that people's rights are granted directly by the Creator - not by the state - and that the people, then, and only then, grant rights to government. The concept is so simple, yet so very fundamental and far-reaching.

CREATOR

People

Government

America's founders embraced a previously unheard-of political philosophy which held that people are "...endowed BY THEIR CREATOR with certain unalienable rights...." This was the statement of guiding principle for the new nation, and, as such, had to be translated into a concrete charter for government. The Constitution of The United States of America became that charter.

Other forms of government, past and present, rely on the state as the grantor of human rights. America's founders, however, believed that a government made up of imperfect people exercising power over other people should possess limited powers. Through their Constitution, they wished to "secure the blessings of liberty" for themselves and for posterity by limiting the powers of government. Through it, they delegated to government only those rights they wanted it to have, holding to themselves all powers not delegated by the Constitution. They even provided the means for controlling those powers they had granted to government.

This was the unique American idea. Many problems we face today result from a departure from this basic concept. Gradually, other "ideas" have influenced legislation which has reversed the roles and given government greater and greater power over individuals. Early generations of Americans pledged their lives to the cause of individual freedom and limited government and warned, over and over again, that eternal vigilance would be required to preserve that freedom for posterity.

Sorry, God is sovereign over all affairs, and a piece of secular paper cannot block Him.

And as soon as a cockamamie idea of “Creator” takes over the picture? We now have a handcart to hell.

That's what our Constitution, alone out of all the other constitutions on the planet, acknowledges.

That's WHY ours is so irreplaceable.

Oh, it could be replaced with quite a number of variations allowing for that general theme.

God doesn’t need that kind of paper to have a robust, blessing presence of His kingdom in a country, however.

Like what?

God doesn’t need that kind of paper to have a robust, blessing presence of His kingdom in a country, however.

I think God does, and that's why God made it.
