White House Watch: Race Continues to Tighten
Rasmussen Reports ^ | 10/12/2016 | Scott Rasmussen

Posted on 10/12/2016 5:35:18 AM PDT by Trump20162020

The race between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton continues to tighten as the results following Sunday’s night debate keep coming in.

Clinton still holds a four-point lead over Trump - 43% to 39% - among Likely U.S. Voters in Rasmussen Reports’ latest White House Watch national telephone and online survey. But that’s down from five points yesterday and her biggest lead ever of seven points on Monday.

Rasmussen Reports updates its White House Watch survey daily Monday through Friday at 8:30 am Eastern based on a three-day rolling average of 1,500 Likely U.S. Voters. The survey has a margin of error of +/- 2.5. Monday’s survey was the first following the release of an 11-year-old video showing Trump discussing women in graphic sexual detail. Tuesday’s survey was the first to include a full night of results following Sunday’s debate; two out of the three nights in the latest survey follow the debate.

Good news. Once all this tape business dies down, we are going to be back to a dead heat. Cankles support is very soft.

Race essentially tied because of tape, full debate should push him over the edge. He has to hammer her in the press and then go after her in the debate to lock it down.

And the other good news - the Monday poll results are going to fall off tomorrow. Monday obviously was a huge Clinton day.

I disagree. How many people are lying to the pollsters about supporting Trump? 5%? 10%? Add in the margin of error. Who is really ahead?

No one has polled nor accounted for the Amish, who will be voting for the first time in huge numbers, statistically 100% support Donald John Trump.

Ryan’s diss of Trump was timed to take the spotlight off Trump mopping the floor with Hillary in the debate the night before, and off course the media obliged. Ryan is a Clinton stooge.

I haven’t rigorously tracked the numbers, but my impression over the past 5 months or so goes like this:

June — Hillary is about 5 points ahead
July — the race tightened
Aug — the race tightened
Sept — the race tightened
Oct — the race tightened

And at this point, after all of that tightening, Hillary is about 5 points ahead.

The polling isn’t real. The election results may not be real either. But the “tightening” is a silly phrase which never really seems to move the numbers in any real way.

Look for the CNN types (MSM) to continue to manufacture 10+ years old synthetic news unfavorable to their political enemies

The good news here:

1. He's leading among Indies.

2. His base is only at 71%. If he increases this, he's ahead

3. Only 2/3 days are captured after the debate. Look for further tightening in the coming days, as the impact of the tape lessens, and the debate performance is more evident

4. The other tracking polls (LATimes - even, PPD- Hillary +3, UPI - Hillary +6) are all 7 day tracking polls. More topical events take more time to be reflected. The tape has 4.5/7 days in, the debate only 2/7

45% of Cankles support could switch their vote, if you read down into the Rasmussen poll. That’s the most of any candidate. For Trump it’s 28%.

Good point. I should have listed that as the 5th point of good news

With Tape-Gate blowing over, we could focus on Wikileaks, BUT no we got the GOP-Chicken-Out creating more dust.

There is a trove of info in the Wikileaks. Collusion the Press, DOJ. Lies to Public vs. Private. Getting debate question in advance from a CNN/Dem Operative/Former DNC-Chair. Giving up Classified info about Bin Laden Raid in a Speech, Bill & Chelsy being PIAs. They want a group of un-informed masses that act like sheep, their loathing of Christians & Catholics.

Those are just the ones I remember off the top of my head!! Ant the stuff is still percolating up to the top too, more to come I bet.

Trump should during the debate should just pull out a piece of paper and say “Donald’s Top-10 List of Wikileaks Findings!” Then go on a bullet by bullet assault on her right to her face and 70 million people.

About the only way this stuff will see the light of day.

Then say “Hillary, I knew Richard Nixon, and you are no Richard Nixon. He was way more honest!”

Then mention the arms dealer in Lybia and how that got out of control and likely was the cause of the embassy attack and not a stupid video. Coin that old Neil Young song and say “Four Dead in Bengahzi!”

Game, Set, Match

Among those certain to vote, she is only up by 2 points! If this is accurate, and who knows, Trump can win the EV if he loses the popular vote...as NY and Cali rack up huge numbers for Hillary and skew the popular vote figures towards her.

He needs to replicate what he says at rallies, at the debate... At the end of it, he should say “I will make America safe again, “I will make America work again, I will make America great again” and finish with that

[ BUT no we got the GOP-Chicken-Out creating more dust.]

In my opinion, this might create MORE support for Trump.

Will the tape business ever die down? Rest assured, there will be another tape type thing or something else. Dirty tricks are all she has at this point. Or, should I say it is all the GOPe has at this point, I am so confused.

Is 43% "good"? It's better than 39% for sure, but "good"?

(Like LA Times, Rasmussen doesn't require human interaction -- so it's likely that it eliminates "some" of the reluctance of "shy" Trump voters.)

("Libertarian nominee Gary Johnson remaining at seven percent (7%) and Green Party candidate Jill Stein holding steady at two percent (2%). Four percent (4%) like some other candidate, and five percent (5%) remain undecided." suggests some "shy" Trump voters in the 18%.)
