A third of young adults cannot change a lightbulb while a quarter admit they cant even boil an egg, according to a survey.
The research among 25 to 34 year olds many of whom still live with their parents appears to show they are losing the skills older generations took for granted, as 77 per cent say they couldnt fix a bike puncture and 68 per cent cant wire a plug.
And, surprisingly, newer technology leaves many stumped as well, with 23 per cent admitting they cant use a washing machine while 41 per cent wouldnt know how to connect a blu-ray player to a TV.
Many of those surveyed by Poundland also admitted they couldnt hang a picture, put a new washer in a dripping tap, decorate a room or iron a shirt or blouse.

No worry....if hillary wins we won’t have eggs or lightbulbs.
That is what the leftists want, dependants.
Hey, that’s what google is for! :-)
So what is it they CAN do, besides vote?
They can damn sure roll a joint and fill a bowl.
I once pulled a Beetle motor in less than 30 minutes. I didn’t think it was any big deal.
But they do know important stuff, like why Trump sucks.
But they can Snapchat the hell outta ya!
At least these useless eaters have future purpose:
1. Loyal Democrat Marxist party members
2. Soylent Green ingredients
How many feminist does it take to change a light bulb?
Can they jump off the nearest bridge?
Sadly, that’s what the Boy Scouts/Girl Scouts used to be for.
put 1/2 teaspoon baking-soda in the water so the egg shells remove easy.
From the article:
“The older generation still have these domestic skills whereas the younger generation have a lot to learn.
“Fingers crossed they learn a few of them by the time they move out to avoid paying unnecessary handy man costs.”
Seems to me if you can’t do it, the costs associated with it being completed are, indeed, NECESSARY.
Hmmm, never tried that. I found that the older the eggs were when you boiled them the easier they were to peel so I would hold on to a carton of eggs at least a week before boiling them. But if the soda works, to heck with that.
Lousy survey questions. Better to ask about past actions not “know” or “can”. For example, “When was the last time you boiled an egg?” “When did you last replace a tap or faucet washer?” “When did you last rewire a plug?” “Have you mended a hole in an item of clothing?” “When did you last change the bag on a vacuum cleaner?” - need to watch the gender specific questions as well. As presented the data is not particularly informative.
I don’t believe the results of the survey but if it were true, it doesn’t speak well for the parents who coddled their millenial children to the point of total ineptitude.
“So what is it they CAN do, besides vote?”
Well, at least in the past, they were able to chant:
‘Yes We Can!’
He said he's starting to encounter students who have never used a screwdriver.
