Vanity: Trump in the next debate.

Posted on 10/08/2016 11:13:37 PM PDT by eekitsagreek

I firmly believe that Trump blew a huge opportunity in the first debate to put Hillary Clinton away. The first 30 or so minutes he was great, but then he took his foot off the gas pedal, and then played defense the rest of the way. He said he went easy on her so as to not embarrass her. So many here believe that because of that, he "looked Presidential". I am so sick of hearing that. McCain looked "Presidential" during his debate. So did Romney. How did that work for our side?

So now we have debate #2 coming up and quite a few posters have said that since Trump looked so "Presidential" in the first debate, he is now free to attack her in the second. Call me confused, but I don't get it. Can someone please explain how it is OK to hold punches in one debate, all in the name of "looking Presidential", and then go with guns blazing in the next one. A more aggressive attack will not "look Presidential", right?

Or am I missing something?

These moderators have been a joke. They conveniently don’t ask any questions about anything that’s bad for the Dems.

Unbelievable. After two debates there hasn’t been one question about health care and how disastrous Obamacare has become, especially since it’s been in the news.

Trump needs to bring up all of Hillary’s negatives even if they’re not asked.

Trump had to APPEAR presidential. That is all.

If the Moderators won't raise the issues, then it is up to Trump to raise thme himself.

He needs to talk about the issues that have put him in this debate and rise above the BS. Hillary is a weak candidate without a record to run on. She wants to make this debate about nonsense, not issues. he needs to stay focused, on message, and Presidential.

He can be both aggressive and presidential. It doesn’t have to be either/or. Some debate prep would help that.

Smarter and more realistic ... and not ashamed of the great heritage of the United States of America.

That should be the foundation. Brush off the latest sensation, all he has to say is that he’s determined to do better and he wonders if the nation will ever hear an apology from the Clintons.

Then hammer on three themes, security, smarter foreign policy, reliance on the initiative of the American people unlocked when the socialist red tape is torn away.

Plus a shout out to Pence, if something goes wrong, I’ve got a much better replacement than she does.

Which reminds me (he should say), health can be a concern at our age ... I’m quite fit and healthy, Hillary? She doesn’t do much campaigning. No stamina? Just leave the question hanging.

This is how you set the trap for your opponent. Lull them into a false sense of security, guide them past the point of no return, and then lead them to the slaughter.

Trump didn’t get to where he is by being an idiot.

Can’t guarantee it’s going to happen, but I suspect we’re going to see a very different side of Trump later today.

He may have been playing a bit of rope-a-dope in the last debate.

Let Hillary look sharp. Then when you do better the second debate, she looks to be slipping. Then you wrap it up by just crushing her in the third debate.

She will look to have lost it.

This is what I hope happens, but with the moderators, this may be harder to do.

Trump needs to pull a Gingrich and call the moderators on their treachery. If he’d debating two or three people, call them on it. Frame them for what they are doing.

He knows enough to have been able to counter her comments in the last debate, and that has caused me to think he was playing a strategic game.

If I were her, I’d be very nervous about this debate.

It could end her. I don’t think it could end Trump.

He has a following that wants change, and the guy would have to turn around and back everything Hillary wants to end their support.

He’ll pick up more support tonight. That’s my pregame...

Yes right. Trump must not hold hese harms.
Let the Clinton come on the ground of vicious personnal attacks and then, using the jujitsu strategy, highlight what a bad person she is trying to hijack the debate avoiding political issues and her huge faults, lies, treasons and failures.
In addition he should question frankly and clearly the Medias and moderators.

Go TRUMP. Bring the hot stuff with the big Guns

If Hildabeast questions Trump on his eleven year old open mic fopar, he need only say:

“I told America the truth about those words, and apologized.
When, in your entire career exclusively of public life, have you ever told the truth to America; when have you ever apologized for your multiple failures of public trust? I’ll wait for your answer. America is still waiting for your apology for placing American security at grave risk on your insecure server.”

Next question!
Q: Release your taxes.
A: Release your speeches to Wall Street. Release the emails Congress requested two years ago before you deleted them.

Next question!

Lull them into a false sense of security, guide them past the point of no return,

You are right about Trump. The first debate is merely warmup for the second and the second is warmup for the third. Also debates are pointless when moderated by enemies of America, and judged after the fact by the same. At this point he needs to maintain his defenses on beauty queen contests, etc. In the third debate he can stick to the issues that both solidify his base and pick up blacks and other minorities.

Dems think "their" blacks are ok with open borders. WRONG! They think they want free stuff instead of jobs. WRONG! Ask any real black. They think that lies and personal attacks that worked Romney or McCain will work on Trump. WRONG! For one thing they played the Trump tape too soon, he has plenty of time to recover from that. Their own immorality is poison to any rational person.

If he’d debating two or three people, call them on it. Frame them for what they are doing.

That's one area where Gingrich can excel, handing multiple opponents in one debate. But Trump is ok with that too. He purposely practiced with hostile media during the primary.
