I hate to say this but an evacuation this far in advance will be a looter’s paradise. I hope the police are out in force to stop the predators.

No republican governor better hug Obama this time like in ‘08, although in the case of Haley she’s probably soul kiss him.
If I lived there, this would be my house: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jxsSBHTFk3w
Overkill to look good for the MSM is my impression.
They also don’t want to look like Katrina but if the states allow FEMA to dictate like they did after Katrina, they show their weakness.
100 MILES from the coast???
Yikes.
.
Quick, take everybodys guns! Or is that the wrong governor?
Just got off the phone with an old college friend who lives in Monck’s Corner, thirty miles from the coast ... will be spending a few day with me in E TN given the governor’s warning to evacuate. Last big storm their power was out for a week! Water will be a major headache, too. Nobody will be driving around in the mess.
Last time they did an evacuation of that area for a storm (12 years ago, or so) it was a total CF. No gas at gas stations, no food at restaurants, No motel rooms available any closer than Tenn.
Tell a million folks to jump in their cars, where are they supposed to go?
And the roads away from the coast became parking lots. Might take more than a tank of gas to go 100 miles.
This seems like severe overkill. It’s going to make people even more dubious of evacuation orders than they already are.
Are they at least staging the evacuation, with immediate coastal counties getting preference and starting first?
Hotels are going to be booked al the way to Asheville in the west and Raleigh to the north. Where will NC residents go if the storm ends up hitting there? The rooms will be filled up with people from South Carolina.
It sounds more stupid the more I think about it.
Brother-in-law says all the RVers are bugging out.
The most recent updates from NOAA show the storm moving away from the coast.
I live in Myrtle Beach and things are flying off the shelves like crazy it’s unreal.
