Honestly let them take it. The house might not be there anyway when you get back. Not worth worrying about things. As long as you have adequate insurance, who cares. Lives worth way more then anything else.
Heck, Winter in Myrtle Beach is pretty much a looter’s paradise. One reason I got a condo there instead of a house. We’ve been told that the SC National Guard will be out and about.
