Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice Roy Moore has been suspended from the bench for telling probate judges to defy federal orders regarding gay marriage.
The Alabama Court of the Judiciary (COJ) issued the order Friday suspending Moore from the bench for the remainder of his term.
"For these violations, Chief Justice Moore is hereby suspended from office without pay for the remainder of his term. This suspension is effective immediately," the order stated.
The court found him guilty of all six charges of violation of canon of judicial ethics. Moore's term is to end in 2019. Gov. Robert Bentley will name a replacement for Moore.

Justice Moore needs not to worry, as on January 21, 2017 President Trump could appoint him the to United States Supreme Court.
What the Heck is Judicial Ethics. Both Clinton;s are lawyers and they violate the law,rules and ethics often and nothing is done. Folks Lawyers are running America into the ground by picking and choosing who to prosecute and persecute. Our Legal System in America is a farce and a slap in the face to everyone that deals with it because it is slanted and manipulated by the ABA.

Looks as though the good people of Alabama need to remove everyone of the members of this group from their seats. Does anyone from AL know if there is a procedure for so doing?

The Left (and even the Right) generally try to insulate these boards so there’s no way you will have impact.
I can’t for sure here and folks should try. If at all possible, I hope the public stands up and takes charge of this situation.
This is how government stifles non-compliance at the judicial level. The next person will be a “yes-man”.
And if he is re-elected in 2018? Then what?
I hope not. He’ll be 70 in 2017. We need no one older then 45 on the court from now on.
Interesting to note, the only reason that gay “marriage” passed in MA to begin with, was a court decision. We never heard of *those* judges getting suspended, nor shall we.
He lost his law license and neither on practiced in decades.
Hold on. Obama violates court order after court order, openly defies them, and......(((((crickets))))).
Moore tells people to disregard an unconstitutional and unnatural law, and he’s summarily fired.
Our country is in the Devil’s thrall.
Is he actually on a Trump proposed list?
Trump is sensible, but not an ideologue or an eye poker.
And Mitt Romney, who so gallantly spearheaded this puppy even ahead of the legislature, became the GOP cause champion in 2012.
To expect the GOP to just pivot and kowtow at Moore’s feet is a bit unrealistic. Even getting it to come along with Trump is hard enough as it is, and Trump is treating this new civic marriage as a fait accompli.
This is an unconstitutional and unaccountable action by a committee that answers to no one and on spurious “charges.”
The legislatures needs to act on this stat.
Is it time for the revolution yet?
What happened is that the secular aspect of the US Constitution became exalted uber alles. It said, through its spokesbeing, the Court, that it’s exactly right for the US to have a sex-blind concept of civil marriage.
I’d even expect such things out of an entity that was a mix of iron and clay, as it were. They don’t adhere well to one another, let alone mix.
Political fury cannot substitute for the personal surrender to the Lord, and it has to begin with those who say they know Him best. Maybe He has an alternate plan to political fury.
Article V is a possibility, if 38 states can be sold on the idea of a greater private latitude in things religious.
No. Nor should he be if for no other reason than he's too old. Almost 70.
