I suspect the sweetie that wrote this was either totally ignorant or was trying to make some political point in that a poor guy was almost killed by just trying to take a sign.
I really think journalism of yesteryear was held to a higher standard.
Literacy has never been a requirement for a TV news gig. For a chick, a hot body, a nice mouth and a decent voice were enough.
Good idea; I also like the poison ivy approach.
The latter is available on my land also ;)
“I really think journalism of yesteryear was held to a higher standard”
Absolutely!
While playing hide and seek at a friend’s home I forgot the fence was an electric fence. Not sure if I was out for just a second or a minute, but I came to on the ground and had a very sore stomach. I had grabbed it with both hands to lean over and look to see if anyone was between me and the “goal”.
Didn’t admit to being such a moron for years.
And he was “charged” with trespassing...
could it have been “carolina blue”??
yes it would be interesting to know where this happened.
homeowner will prolly get an IRS audit now
Not everyone is allergic or sensitive to poison ivy. Poison ivy could be a bigger problem for those who are sensitive to it if they rub it in their eyes or mouth, or handle a child or infant.
Shock designed for animal restraint is startling when you don’t expect it, but won’t cause permanent injury in and of itself like poison ivy could. I have been ‘kicked’ by electric horse fence and it was definitely an unforgettable experience lol~
Put some fresh dog doo all around it. Coat it with stink juice. Rig it with a hotel door alarm. Or go full out - alarm it with hi power floodlights and very loud alarm siren and have camo cam.
Looks like something similar has happened to “drown.”
: to soak, drench, or cover with a liquid
No requirement of death.
Author has a poor grasp of the English language......
Electric-shocked not electrocuted. When I read electrocuted I was worried someone had gone too far.
As I am sure has been pointed out, electrocuted means he was killed.
Clearly, he received a jolt or a shock. And then he ran away.
This made me curious about the word. It has evolved to mean kill OR injure by electricity.
Being a conservative, I’ll stick with the original meaning of “kill.” Besides it derives from “electricity” + “execute” so the meaning is plain on the face of it. This calls for a new word: “electroharm”
More fun than a Roadrunner/Wile E Coyote cartoon.
The first time I heard electrocute misused was on a radio newscast. “Two men were electrocuted, one critically.” Totally cracked me up.
HAAAHAHAHAA!!!
I hope the bum couldn’t pee in a straight line for a month after.
Stopping the criminals, one electrified sign at a time.
The thief wasn’t electrocuted, electrocution is fatal.
