Donald Trump’s running mate is breaking with the Republican nominee’s claim that climate change is not the result of human activity.

Vice presidential nominee Mike Pence said Tuesday “there’s no question’ that human activity affects both the climate and the environment. […]

Pence, appearing separately on CNN, said, “let’s follow the science,” but he warned against rushing into environmental restrictions that drive jobs out of the country and put Americans out of work. …

If anything, patterns of past temperature fluctuations suggest another cold plunge is coming up, which was why the earlier concern about a global freeze.

Already happening....the Sun's magnetic field is in decline...

so less sunspots

Expect the next ice age to commence about the time of a Pence first term after 8 of Trump.

Worst thing I’d heard about him yet. I think his crime is ignorance rather than ill will. Get him some nice Mark Steyn books.

For all of the folks jumping in to call out Pence, on this, why not take a listen to what he actually said...vs what some lefty site (ap) says for him?

The earth is some 4,600,000,000,that’s billion, years of age.
As the Greeks of Antiquity discovered, change, a cyclically recurring phenomenon, is eternal: cold to hot, birth to death, growth to decay, light to dark; among thousands of natural phenomena.
Pence should heed Clements advice to sit in silence and be presumed a dunce rather than speak and remove all doubt.

Not much more there than in the AP article.

Both have Conway’s remarks, too.

To a certain degree, they are both correct. Pense is talking about the undeniable fact that increased CO2 levels will have an impact on climate - albeit a very small (and most likely beneficial) one. Trump has always stated that the large, catastrophic, prediction was bogus.

Continue reading to find out how the theory of catastrophic 'climate change' can be scientifically shown to be 100% WRONG.

According to the CO2 based theory of global warming/climate change, and is agreed by by scientists on both side of the argument (which some are misled to believe is consensus on the entire argument), the direct warming, caused by the additional CO2 will be minor - about 1deg C per doubling of CO2 levels. That is the '5th grade science', it's what Pense is talking about, and it's not disputed.

What is disputed, is what comes next - it's called 'climate sensitivity'.

The CO2 based theory says that, the climate is very stable, and sensative to change, and that 1deg C increase will lead to more evaporation (water vapor is a much stronger greenhouse gas than CO2), and that increased water vapor will result in more warming, more water vapor, more warming.... A VERY strong positive feedback - 'catestophic climate change!'.

So, the alarmists keep talking about record warming, assuming it is happening (which accoring to satellite records is doubtful), how do we tell if any warming is because of increased CO2, and not natural processes?

According to the theory, it's the water vapor positive feedback that is the concern, so how can we tell if we have heating caused by increased water vapor? Water vapor (level of humidity) fluctuates all the time, so how can we tell if it's increasing because of global warming? There is somewhere that it's stable - the tropical mid troposphere is constantly 100% humidity, so if global humidity was increasing, we would see the amount of water vapor incease, by moving to vertically to higher altitudes. This would be measuable by seeing increased temperatures at these higher levels - the 'Tropical Mid-troposphere Hotspot' .

Recent paper on whether Tropical Hotspot exists

If this hotspot does not exist, then it doesn't matter how hot it is, it's NOT because of increased CO2 levels!

I first became a non-believer of 'global warming' around 2000, when I read an article written by the architecht of Australia's Kyoto Protocol compiance system. And in it, he explained how the tropical hotspot was the fingerprint of CO2 based warming, and even though they had been looking for it for years, it just wasn't there.

This article is imporant because it just continues to show that CO2 based warming is impossible. If there is no Tropical Hotspot, the theory is dead wrong! But what do I know? I'm just a 'scientificly illiterate', 'denier'!

Did you watch the vid, at the link I posted? I wasn’t talking about the CNN commentary.

I looked for a youtube link, but couldn’t find one. That’s the only vid link I could find.

“There’s no question that the activities that take place in this country and in countries around the world have some impact on the environment and some impact on climate.

THAT is a statement that should NOT be made without total agreement by all sides of the issue. As it stands today the only ones saying that the matter is "settled science" aren't even credentialed in most cases to discuss the matter as decision makers on behalf of a society, much less qualify it as settled science. Pence screwed up.

The Bush VP was Reagan’s fatal mistake killing the Reagan Revolution (even though the effects lasted for another 20 years or so) and ushering in 28 years of Leftist socialism and misery. I see Pence the same way but I don’t think America would survive if the wrong guy got in in 2024.

THE criteria for Trump’s VP should have been and still is, IMO, who will be the strongest lover of limited constitutional government who will walk in in 2024 after Trump and take down the unconstitutional 80%+ of the feds. I think we’ve got 2016 and probably 2020. IMO 2024 is what we should be pointing towards. I don’t think America could survive a Leftist or watered-down Leftist victory in 2024.

Trump picked the wrong running mate, any one who is smart enough to give it thought has to wonder about the many millions of years of climate change before man was even on the planet.

I don`t know but evidence shows there must have been some doozies.

Please see my post #73 which has a DIRECT link to the actual interview....so you can see for yourselves, rather than depending on lefty “news” outlets to tell us what Pence said...on this...and many other debate topics.

Thanks.

Over the weekend I got a two-minute call recorded on my answering machine. It was Ivanka Trump, begging me to come out and hear Mike Pence speak at a high-school that is over 100 miles from my home.

Guess THIS explains why they have to do that.

That graph is 5 years old, as is the article it is from. It would be nice if we could find some more recent data.
