I like to call it "flak chucking" -- preventing the truth from destroying their lies.
LOL! Rush just praised that brilliant angry man song “Sundown” just as he praised “Under My Thumb.” Both songs are in my top 20 favorites - particularly Sundown.
And Rush is totally wrong about spitting actors. I’ve never, in all my acting classes, theater labs, ever heard a spitting actor (Al Pacino/Lynn Redgrave) praised for their speaking skills - and I’ve seen Guilgud & Olivier on stage. Liza spits and sweats in her shows. It’s why I always sit in the back of the theater.
I liked Sundown the first time I heard it. Under My Thumb is not my favorite Rolling Stones song though. My favorite is Gimme Shelter followed closely by Monkey Man.

Under My Thumb is not my favorite either but it’s a good song. I adore Sundown, though and recognize it from the beginning notes. Rush has good taste.
