During CNNs coverage after the first presidential debate, CNN Commentator and former Obama advisor Van Jones argued that while Donald Trump lost his way at the end of the debate, Most people probably only watched the first 20 or 30 minutes, and in those first 20 and 30 minutes, he was very effective. And trade is a big weak spot for Democratic presidential nominee former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
...
He then stated, Most people probably only watched the first 20 or 30 minutes, and in those first 20 and 30 minutes, he was very effective. He was very good on the trade stuff. That is a big weak spot for her, its a big pain point in our party, and he was great.

Hahahaha...
Most people only watched part of the debate and went to bed.
That when Trump was animated and on fire.
Hillary? She was beaten like a rented mule.
And there’s still zero enthusiasm for her among Democrats.
Van, despite your thinking, ‘only watched 20-30 minutes....blah, blah, blah’ really doesn’t mean a whole lot.
Are you gonna make all the voters take a ‘completeness debate comprehension’ test before they can vote? Is watching all of a debate(s) a requirement for voting?
We are about 5 weeks out from November 8; are you seriously believing any of that matters at this point? There are STILL people out there that haven’t made up their minds? The absolute mess this government has made of our lives the last 8 years just poofs away because I didn’t watch some debate and get “the magnificence of Hillary?”
I don’t know about most people, but if you haven’t made up your mind about your vote by now you are either and idiot or you’re lying and pandering for attention as an ‘undecided’ (some people just like their butts kissed).
And for the “concern” freaks supposedly on Trump’s side, maybe your support is weak and tacit and you’re predisposed to be against him and secretly covet the awesomeness of the Hillary..... I dunno. None of this makes a damn bit of difference to me at this point. My vote is already set.
It’s always about the middle 20% of the country. The clueless, last minute, not sure what they will do crowd.
They likely didn’t watch at all as they pay attention a week or two before the election.
Jones was right. They tuned out.
Have to admit, I too was dozing the last 20-30 minutes or so.
When the first question by Holt had wrong data in it, I turned to Investigation Discovery. When commercials came on, I flipped back to the debate. The first two times, Trump was yelling, and I’m thinking, “Oh, no; that’s not good. It’s not the Donald America needs to see.”
Later on, he seemed to do better when I was able to watch. When MSM is running the show, you pretty much know it’s going to get ugly.
I’d think Van Jones would be more concerned about Trump’s description of the Democrat failure of black Americans.
“Most people probably only watched the first 20 or 30 minutes”......
Actually Mr. Jones, I saved the electricity and didn’t watch ANY of the media’s “circus”.
I really had no interest in it (I haven’t watched one of these in decades, as I view them as commercials for undecided voters); one of my children wanted to watch it as he hears more and more buzz about Trump. He lost interest after about 20 minutes; I hope a lot of other people did as well...
I never watch Van Jones because he is never great, good or even mediocre.
Anybody else notice all the eye blinking? Looked like she was sending a message via morse code. Maybe the earpiece fell out and that was plan B.
He lost interest after about 20 minutes; I hope a lot of other people did as well...

I quit watching after about 20 minutes. I could not take any more of that vile woman’s unchallenged lies. She’s a despicable liar.
I DVR’d the debate. Fast forwarded thru Hillary (can’t stand to hear her voice let alone look at her) and watched Trump. He was a bit too laid back at first but then turned it on.
He seemed to me that he ran out of gas towards the end.
All in all he more than held his own.
I did notice that while he was making a point Hillary was watching him with a smug condescending smirk on her face.
That smirk and those phony laughs killed her. She needs white men to vote for her and she lost more than she won last night.
Trump nailed it on the economy and security. The rest was fluff.
Pray America wakes
Heard an interesting caller in to our local talk radio show today. He pointed out that only the first 30 minutes of the debate were on policies that people really care about - jobs, the economy, and trade. The other hour was spent on trivial items like Trump’s tax returns, birtherism, and whether Hillary “looked presidential.” No one cares about those issues.
For the first 30 minutes of the debate, on the substance, Trump came across as authentic and really hit Hillary hard.
Ditto.
That lost the debate for her, along with the same old Democrat hits on race and gender. People are fed up with that crap...everybody except her core base of support, which she can not run away from.
seeing Van wet his pants over Trump repeatedly has been a treat this cycle
I turned away from the debates as soon as Hillary said, “Trickle Down”.
Like that woman didn’t have enough of Bill’s trickle down in the White House.
Hey Communist Nit wit: The only place where Trump lost was in newsrooms silent majority: 14 polls & 3.41 million votes Trump got 70% media wrong again.
