My view is that when Cruz told the crowd “vote your conscience: vote for the constitutionalist” Trump ought to have stepped up and said “thank you for your endorsement”.

Thanks. I wasn’t thinking so much of conservatives in general. I figure the self-proclaimed “true conservative” NeverTrumpers have to actually prefer her stances on some issues to his; otherwise how can they even pretend to justify their anti-Trump stance as anything but sour grapes?

I understand the moderate, globalist, establishment Bush-wing NeverTrump types to an extent, but actual conservatives taking this stance with so much at stake is mind-boggling (you’d think the idea of Hillary appointing Scalia’s replacement alone would be enough to get them to wake up). Oh, well, hopefully at least some of them will be convinced by Cruz’s arguments for Trump.

From what little I read, they like to style themselves, ‘neverTrump/neverHillary.’ I.e.: deep thinkers, they aren’t.

But I like you’re closing thought. Perhaps once their self-absorbed sense of ultimate betrayal wears off [as it will; they being about as mature as they are circumspect], Cruz’ arguments will sink in, and Trump will get some of their votes, at least.

Someone needs to let those geniuses know that one or the other of these two will be our next president. This is the most consequential election in ages, but they’re acting like it isn’t really that big of a deal if Hillary gets in (as if there will still be a viable national conservative movement after full amnesty and a 6-3 or 7-2 hard-left Supreme Court).

It’s funny, though. I argued with these sorts before, and I’ve never had one of them put forward good reasons why they hate Trump and don’t care if he loses to Hillary. Either they have nothing truly significant or substantive to hit him on (as if eminent domain or Trump’s past personal life are the most important issues facing our nation), they act irrationally hysterical (Trump is Hitler! He’s going to scrap the Constitution!), or they radically misrepresent his positions, statements, and history (showing that their Trump hatred isn’t based in reality but just the biases they developed during the primaries).

Politically disgraceful. Late Friday with the other junk and the weekend before the debates. This endorsement should have come months ago and emphatic.

You’re right, they don’t have a good reason to oppose Trump. But fwiw, their shallow, excuse-reason is that he’s a “buffoon.”

I proudly voted for Senator Cruz and would do so again, I don’t blame him one bit for not doing it up till now.

Very glad he came around to doing it though, wished it would have happened at the convo. It’s time to put hard feelings aside, there is one goal. Stop the witch and keep her minions out of Congress to save the country from the Nazi Supreme Court she would appoint, the clown show she would continue on foreign policy, the felonies she would commit in office, ect.

Response from losers like McMuffin and Glenn Beck is pathetic. Ted Cruz loves his country (which is the USA, not Canada), you fags don’t. My tagline, period.

Yes, I am proud he came out and did the endorsement thing, and Trump acknowledged it.

This may be the salve that sooths lots of hurt hearts, and helps in the healing process of our nation.

GO, TRUMP!!!

DJT may want to consider bringing Ted Cruz & his wife to Virginia this evening to attend the Trump rally in Virginia. Cruz & his wife, appearing on stage with Trump would be a powerful sign of “party unity” and it would offer DJT an open, public opportunity to “bury the hatchet”, with both Ted Cruz & his wife. with a sincere, gracious delivery, that the bitter primary campaign is now behind all of them. It would also greatly assist Cruz, politically, as he prepares for his Senate re-election run in 2018. Food for thought!!!

Just remember folks, if Donald J. Trump wins the POTUS....the Democrat Party will be dormant for the next twenty years!!! Much is at stake!!! A DJT win also means, Hillary Clinton is now a full time grandma...maybe spending time, knitting, in prison and, any positive legacy for failed POTUS, Obama goes down the toilet bowl, with the next flush on Wednesday morning, November 9th, 2016!!

Elect & Support: Donald J. Trump on 09/08/2016

I agree.

Reading the anguish yesterday over Cruz's endorsement from NeverTrumpers made me want to punch the screen. (David Limbaugh was dealing with some of that nuttiness on his Twitter yesterday.) Apparently none of them noticed the following:

1. Cruz never said he was NeverTrump.

2. Cruz never said he was not going to vote for Trump.

3. Cruz made no attempt to contest Trump's nomination at the convention and never endorsed the "Free the Delegates" move made by Mike Lee and Ken Cucinelli.

4. In the time since the convention, Cruz never spoke disparagingly of Trump or took action to injure his campaign.

5. Even Cruz's infamous "vote your conscience" line never foreclosed a possibility of voting for Trump, and some even took it as an implicit Trump endorsement (Analyst Sean Trende, for example, interpreted it that way).

In short, there was always the chance Cruz could come out and endorse Trump. He never set in stone that he wouldn't. It makes the wails of anger: "Oh he caved!" "Oh he sold out!" stupid and idiotic. A lot of NeverTrumpers talked themselves into believing Cruz was one of them and they're now paying the price for fooling themselves.

Exactly. I dont know why Freepers hate Cruz more than obama who destroyed the country for the past 8 years. That’s just mind boggling..

Indeed, but it's not really mind boggling. I believe many Freepers are NOT who/what they claim to be.

” I believe many Freepers are NOT who/what they claim to be.”

I know so for many years. One example was a month ago when one “Freeper” replied that fag gun holders are “more conservative” than non homo gun holders. Seriously...
