Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, who during the Republican presidential primary called Donald Trump a "pathological liar," endorsed his former rival on Friday in a lengthy statement explaining why he is now "honoring" his pledge to support the GOP nominee.

"After many months of careful consideration, of prayer and searching my own conscience, I have decided that on Election Day, I will vote for the Republican nominee, Donald Trump," Cruz wrote in a Facebook post.

"Hillary Clinton is manifestly unfit to be president, and her policies would harm millions of Americans. And Donald Trump is the only thing standing in her way," he added.

"I am greatly honored by the endorsement of Senator Cruz. We have fought the battle and he was a tough and brilliant opponent," Trump said in a statement.

Don’t care for Cruz but he did the right thing here, so thanks for that. If it builds the lead in OH, NC, or FL which are must-win or helps break down the blue wall in PA, MI, WI, and MN or win VA. it will be great.

Especially Wisc. If he can get all his buddies that helped him win the primary there to get solidly behind Trump, that would be awesome.

“he is now “honoring” his pledge to support the GOP nominee”

Took him long enough.

The statement was a good one.

Sen. Cruz is on the Trump Train and we should welcome him and his supporters with open arms.

It doesn’t matter, He isn’t running right now. We have a much bigger threat to deal with.

Eyes on the prize.

...SOMEBODY QUICK GO DOWN TO BLAZE STUDIOS,....

I used to really like Beck. And then something went off the rails. Badly.
He has already issued a statement saying it may be time to move to the mountains.
He already moved to Texas. Te mountaindms are now only about 600 miles from Dallas, But, he can’t run from himself and his apoplexy over reality.

I agree. As time passes, Hillary looks worse and Trump looks better. I never considered not voting against Hillary, even if our candidate was Bill the Cat, but I’m feeling better about a vote for Trump, especially since it may matter in my state.

I know that it is vital to our survival to elect Trump.
I’m disappointed it took a Harvard lawyer this long to figure that out.

I will always call out the ineligibles who would follow the Kenayanesian Usurpation with a Cubanadian one. Or a Cuban one. Or an Indian one.

Born here of citizen parents.

Period.

That’s fine. But I’d point out that as it stands right now, Sen. Cruz is not running for President. We can worry about that later when and if it becomes an issue. And frankly I don’t think it will.
