Ted Cruz endorsement of Donald Trump forthcoming: Report (WT)
Washington Times ^ | Sept. 23, 2016 | WT Editorial Staff

It seems like Texas Sen. Ted Cruz has determined where his conscience is leading him, and it’s toward Donald Trump.

The endorsement could come as early as Monday, unnamed sources, close to Mr. Trump’s campaign, told Lifezette. “Those sources noted that Cruz has become seriously concerned about the long-term threats to the Constitution and conservative priorities, should Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton win the White House,” the online political site, founded by conservative pundit Laura Ingraham, reported.

... But I guess Cruz is starting to worry that Trump may win, and for his own career, he decided that he better get on the Trump train....

That would be my guess. It’s for certain it’s not because he’s concerned about the good of the country or he would have done it long ago.

Again?! This is posted earlier. As I wrote then: Too little, too late. Lyn’ Ted is history and not actions now, short of apologizing and resigning from Senate would be acceptable. Even then, good riddance to him. As I’ve said before, I will donate to his opponent, first the Republican, then the Democrat, if need be, to see he does not win re-election. It is too bad the RNC is too gutless to kick him, Jeb, and the others out of the party. The Senate should remove him from his committee assignments. The guys a loser and lost every issue in the senate he’s touched anyway.

His speech writers are working hard right now. So far they have:

I was looking forward to working with Hillary but she'll be dead within a year. Kaine is crazy and likely can't be bought. So "go Trump?"

The speech writers are debating on if the ending should be a question mark or period. They have decided against an exclamation point.

But seriously. Cruz was my 2 choice most of the last year. I hope he rehabilitates my opinion of him if/when he stops helping Hillary. I can understand his hard feelings. But we have HILLARY vs TRUMP. Family is above politics. But nothing will change what Trump said about his family. Siding with Hillary doesn't just get revenge on Trump but hurts the entire country and pretty much everything Cruz has ever said he stands for.

Too little, too late? I mean, I think it’s good that he’s considering the endorsement. In all reality, however, the endorsement should have come long ago.

You may be correct, but I hope that he sees what damage Hillary can do in just four years. I used to be a Cruz supporter but he lost me before he dropped out. Now I still don’t trust his motives completely.

That’s why Cruz will do it if he does. It’s all about his political future. If Trump was doing badly in the polls right not, do you think Ted would come forth with an endorsement to try to help save him? No! He wouldn’t. He’d be planning his 2020 campaign. However, Trump is doing very well right now, and Ted is thinking that it would be better to support him for his own future prospects - including his 2018 Senate race. He’s walking a fine line here if he endorses because there are Trump supporters who like him and will welcome it, but there are other Trump supporters who see him doing it for political expediency. He has to regain Trump supporters again and keep his diehards.

Now over to Twitter to read #CruzCrew tweets.
