4 Things To Watch In The First Debate For Hillary Clinton
NPR ^ | September 23, 2016 | Mara Liasson

Posted on 09/23/2016 6:00:37 AM PDT by Zakeet

Here are four things Clinton will have to think about.

  1. What is her goal?

Debate coaches say one of the biggest mistakes a presidential candidate can make is misunderstanding what a presidential debate is and is not. It's not a forum to score policy points (a Clinton strength). Instead, it's a contest of character and demeanor. Everyone knows that Clinton is knowledgeable and competent. Now, she needs to use the debate to show she's also authentic and relatable.

  2. How does she deal with the burden of high expectations?

... The bar for Donald Trump is relatively low — he just has to show he's a plausible president, and not the outrageous, offensive character some voters see on the campaign trail. But she has to prove that she's more honest, trustworthy and likable than most voters think.

    [Snip]

  3. What about gender?

This will be the first time in history that a male and female candidate have faced off on a presidential debate stage. And like it or not, they will be judged differently.

    [Snip]

  4. Do debates even matter?

Even though debates rarely determine the outcome of presidential elections they do make a difference. You can't win an election, in a debate but you can lose one (See: Gore, Albert or Bush, George H.W.).

Hmmm.... I know the topic was in reference to what HRC must do, but... uh... ummmm... does this seem just little bit biased?

NPR should be cut off from taxpayer dollars. Sell commercials like the rest of the competitive world.

NPR: she needs to use the debate to show she’s authentic and relatable.

THOUGHTOMATOR: "She’s doomed."

LOL....good one.

============================================

I'm on the watch to see whether she smiles or not. B/C ever since she seized up on 9/11, she had no idea all of America watched her fall into the van.

Coming of Chelsea's place just 90 minutes later doing her campaign act---smiling profusely, waving----generated widespread questions about her health problems.

She's tempered her behavior dramatically lately. So she must figure smiling at the debate is a no-no......but being somber and serious will again generate health questions among the electorate.

I’d say not falling out would be her primary concern. She’s gonna be doled up on something.

They had to tie a pork chop around her neck to get the dog to play with her...she shrieks, she laughs like a mad woman, hacks like a TB patient, lies like a rug, cusses like a sailor, slurs words like a skid row bum, all the grace of a bobblehead doll..what a package!

Everyone knows that Clinton is knowledgeable and competent.

Not according to many of those who have been in her presence since the Arkansas days, like Dick Morris. He thinks she would have trouble with an 8th grade Rio Linda pop quiz.

PS. So do I.

“Everyone knows that Clinton is knowledgeable and competent.”

Dear NPR, please educate me on at least one thing HRC has touched that hasn’t turned into a pile of excrement.

I make the over/under on how long she will remain at the podium before she must leave (possibly to return) 22 minutes. This assumes that she gets there to begin with.

Everyone knows that NPR is blatant globalist propaganda bullshit 24 hours a day. Their election coverage would make the North Korean People’s News Network blush.

Absolutely Trump should defund them on day 1.

From the posted article.

Everyone knows that Clinton is knowledgeable and competent.

What a joke!!! Hillary Clinton carries a diagnosis of DEMENTIA in her medical reports. This is inconsistent with being "knowledgeable and competent"!!!

She would be fortunate to get through the hour and a half long (?) debate without showing any outward symptoms of neurological impairment.

“...things Clinton will have to think about. “

5. Whether the coaching coming into her ear piece is from her handlers, or if Trump’s people have intercepted the signal. Instructions like “Roll your eyes back in your head, and scream Reeep-loo-bunga-bunga: I killed Vince Foster” could be signs of trouble. What’s a puppet to do?
