Why I or people I know never had any problem with Cops?
I always finds cops very friendly and helpful, sometimes helped me out of way. Even when I made wrong turn or jumped light.

As a post script, from an Okie criminal lawyer web site:

“First Degree Manslaughter occurs in the following cases:

1. When perpetrated without a design to effect death by a person while engaged in the commission of a misdemeanor.

2. When perpetrated without a design to effect death, and in a heat of passion, but in a cruel and unusual manner, or by means of a dangerous weapon; unless it is committed under such circumstances as constitute excusable or justifiable homicide.

3. When perpetrated unnecessarily either while resisting an attempt by the person killed to commit a crime, or after such attempt shall have failed.

Second Degree Manslaughter is defined as:

Every killing of one human being by the act, procurement or culpable negligence of another, which, under the provisions of this chapter, is not murder, nor manslaughter in the first degree, nor excusable nor justifiable homicide, is manslaughter in the second degree.”

And that justifies shooting him? If so, then why did they wait so long before firing?

I hope she survives this. Stressful situation that the suspect was responsible for creating.

Shouldn't police officers be trained to handle stressful situations? If this shows she can't deal with it then perhaps she shouldn't have been a police officer to begin with?

No not really. They had his record. He did not obey orders. Police are on edge, everything is relevant.

It was not furnished to any personnel at the scene, so irrelevant. The court will treat it that way too.

That stuff is instantly available. When were you born? All they needed was the tag number.

Did anyone at the site actually DO such a thing. Wants and warrants is what comes up — not legal bygones.

I think this is mixing up the two incidents. No one has claimed (that I’ve seen) that the Tulsa shootee had a gun, and there are no guns in any photos I’ve seen. The Charlotte shootee, apparently had a gun in a dashcam video, and there is a picture out there of a gun on the ground.

Of course, why do you think they sit in their cars before approaching vehicles?

I read they he also had some outstanding warrants but I cannot be sure.

Time will tell. No doubt she screwed up, and has been charged with Manslaughter 1.

But not the legal bygones — if you’re norming to a time when that happened then I have to turn the question back on you, when were YOU born?

Do you think the shooting was justified?

I am thinking that she thought he was being shot at when he was tazed—and just went with the pack instinct.

The overwhelming majority of police officers are friendly, helpful, competent, and do an outstanding job. A small minority shouldn't be police officers to begin with, and when people like that slip through then people die.
