IRS chief Koskinen says he was misled, doesn’t deserve impeachment

While acknowledging that the IRS bungled tea party applications, and that he himself gave wrong information to Congress, agency Commissioner John Koskinen told lawmakers Wednesday he needs to remain at the IRS in order to clean it up.

At a hearing designed to lay the ground for his possible impeachment, Mr. Koskinen implied he was let down by his subordinates, who allowed hundreds of backup tapes to be destroyed, losing tens of thousands of emails from former senior executive Lois G. Lerner.

It is the loss of those emails, even as they were under a subpoena issued by Congress, that has landed Mr. Koskinen in the hot seat, with conservative Republicans demanding he be ousted from office for his behavior.

Follow-up Question: Was anyone punished or terminated for misleading the Chief?

If not, impeachment is still on.

DC will not fix itself from within no matter what the elected officials say or claim in their constant theatrical slight of hand. There has been several $trillion stolen from us by those in DC and on Wall Street and NOT A ONE OF THEM has gone to jail for it.

Mr. Koskinen implied he was let down by his subordinates...

*************

BS. An executive’s job is to set the tone for the organization and establish expectations for his subordinates. If they don’t perform the executive should be held accountable.

Why even bother to have an executive in the first place if they’re not going to manage their subordinates?

Leaders don’t deflect responsibility, they accept it.

How long has it been since this “surprise” came upon him anyhow?

“Remember a time when Government officials would resign in disgrace? “

For Democrats it is a resume enhancer.

I would be shocked if he was impeached. The Republicans don’t have it in them to do it.

He said that message was received by everybody save for two workers on the graveyard shift at the West Virginia facility where the deletions happened.

Name the two workers. Tell us whether they suffered any consequences.

My first thought to this is the elite know Hillary is going down. Fear the next step when Trump gets to town. That’s why his tone has changed. Very interesting.

Trump might not be able to impeach, but he can certainly kick scads of these malfeasants out of their jobs.

Before getting our hair too much on fire about it, let’s ask the Rooskies. Do you have these emails?

How many billions were missing from the State Department? I think it was about $6 billion. As usual, nobody was ever held accountable. And that’s just an example of theft from one agency.

Trump should mention this at the debate.

Why is the GOP doing this now with literally months to go until Trump takes over? They have been dithering for YEARS.

Ha! I'm sure going in that he knew his job was to 1) keep Lois Lerner out of jail, and 2) keep the scandal away from Obama.
