... Trump winning the election in November is not reason to leave; on the contrary, it is the very reason we need to stay. To get to where he is today, the Republican nominee for president of the United States of America, Trump appealed to less educated, blue-collar workers living in racially isolated areas, who feel that their voices are not being heard. To do so, he played on a fear that immigrants take American jobs, a fear that terrorism will spill into American borders and the general fear that America is no longer what it used to be. As a result, he amplified xenophobic, Islamaphobic, homophobic and other othering sentiments.
Consequently, Trump winning the election is not the main issue. Whether or not he wins the presidential election, his followers will remain, and so will the toxic sentiments that he brought to the surface. As these tensions rise, it becomes ever more important to combat injustice and fight for the rights of underrepresented groups.
That being said, the comments Trump has made throughout his campaign do pose potentially dangerous futures for minorities that Trump is targeting. Based on Trumps proposed policies regarding Muslims and immigrants, America very well may become a dangerous place to live for those groups of people.
According to a poll by Vox/Morning Consult, 53 percent of Hispanic people, 38 percent of African Americans and 43 percent of other nonwhite people who participated in the poll answered that they were very likely or somewhat likely to consider moving to another country, such as Canada...

Hmm, I have a college degree, a law degree, an advanced law degree and live within thirty miles of one of the biggest and wealthiest metro areas in the country. It’s nice to learn that I’m supporting the wrong guy.
Nice retort. Very deplorable of you.
Check out the comments on the site, ALL Pro Trump. heh heh
Progressives, DO NOT listen to this guy. You DO need to move to Canada or somewhere even farther away. PLEASE move. Pretty please.
Why not? You send us all those bleeding heart liberal actors. You’re supply of mush brained liberals, must be getting low.
I should have said “it”.
Good points AC.
btw, Mr. Douglas, how did you worm your way back in?
Your old name was ‘cuban leaf’ or something along those lines.
Tamed your inner hate towards Trump? Good!
The ban was only temporary. The comedy is that when I was banned I was trying to, through multiple posts, explain why I was no longer a nevertrumper.
Sadly, I didn’t get the chance. This election cycle has kinda messed with the rules.

Touche! :)
If they move to California they can still vote but since California's electoral votes are a hopeless cause anyway it doesn't do too much harm. If enough of them go to California eventually California gets more electoral votes, but the 2024 election is the first one when the results of the 2020 census will determine the number of electoral votes.
Seems you still make snide comments regarding Trump - oh well, welcome to the party - it’s way better than the dark dank world of the ‘never has beens’
Seems you still make snide comments regarding Trump...
I honestly don’t know what you are talking about. Must I believe he’s the second coming or I don’t get to play?
This is getting silly.
Nah, just try to be reasonable, not asking too much is it?
I agree, the whole never Trump dance is silly.
How’s Kentucky holding up??
Love Kentucky! Love it.
BTW, I spend more time on liberal (or equal parts of both) sites than here. I can be really hard on trump there, but still juxtapose him against hillary. You can’t pretend you are in an echo chamber on those sites and talk of Trump as though he can do no wrong. You’ll just look stupid.
Some of that may be spilling over into my posts here. I’m coming into this with both eyes open. I really do adhere to the attitude of the article about this being the “flight 93 election”.
And truth be told, I think we’re probably screwed no matter who wins, even if Reagan came back from the grave to win. Why the heck do you think I moved from Seattle to a farm in south central Kentucky? ;-)
Good to hear! I’m seriously considering moving there as well.
I don’t disagree with you in principle, I don’t accept everything about Trump but I know dang well that the choice is crystal clear.
My fear matches yours, we may truly be too far gone. Chilling reality. One man is not going to be able to turn this mess around, but one man CAN stem some of the bleeding and IF people wake the hell up, WE can work to reverse some of this damage.
