The youngsters surveyed had more conservative views on gay marriage, transgender rights and drugs than their older siblings, parents and potentially even grandparents.

I'm sorry but I have no hope for Gen Z outside of a holy ghost inspired revival...

We have a large number of them every week at a House Fellowship in the NW ATL suburbs. Many are KSU students. It is a real joy to be with them.

100%.

I don’t believe it for a second.

Rebel against authority!

When Authority is leftist, that can mean only one thing. Well, a couple of things. Actually, lots of things. I’m so confused.

Every generation needs Christ. Neither the moralism of the Pharisees or the libertine lifestyle of the Romans will fulfill man’s longing for peace. I am pleased to hear a generation is moving back toward a conservative point of view. They will be blasted with an education system that will attempt to change their hearts, minds and souls. Let’s pray for them.

DOn't forget their portion of the national debt will be well over a quarter million by the time they get out of college

The kids rebel and adapt. Later, they temper their behavior but they are always influenced by the excesses of the past, like multiculturalism instead of cultural integration, race shaming, abortion profiteering and the artificial, political, lightening speed acceptance of gay marriage.

No drugs or gay marriage, & HATE tattoos:

That's not extreme conservatism. Hell, most liberals were like that only a decade ago.

Kids usually refute their parents values ... or move away from it.

As kids and teenagers they do, but as they become adults they often come back around to their parents' values, if the parents did a good job. I know I followed that path.

Generation Z would be the product of Gen X, I guess. Gen X turned pretty liberal (although a good chunk were apolitical), but they didn't participate in any flower power love-ins or 60s-style protesting. They also grew up during the Reagan era and some of that may have rubbed off and got passed down to their teenaged kids. Let's hope.

I am in my mid 50s. I would certainly like to see a swing towards a national conservatism before I close my eyes for good.

If it were up to me I’d say voting age is 30, and I am not that old myself.

Until then, most young people are still finding their ground. Wings they’ve got. Landing gear, not so much.

I spend a lot of time with college students. The ignorance would make your eyes burn. But if there is one imperative for nearly all of them it’s that they must be against their elders somehow — and political-cultural differences are so easy to handle. Blather, rinse, repeat. If there’s room for a second imperative, that’s for parroting whatever gets them the social connection (i.e., “hook up”) they desire.

These people should not be voting.

Wrong! They’ve been indoctrinated in public schools since kindergarten at least.

Only 14 and 15 year olds were surveyed, meaning they haven’t been indoctrinated yet.

The indoctrination starts in Pre-K.

WW II generation who voted FDR 3 times? I hope Generation Y is better then that. Quite frankly, I find generation X the most conservative generation in history. We just haven’t run the country yet, but the states are and you see the states turning conservative who have a Gen X governor. I am gen X for transparency.

My wife and I taught our sons about right and wrong, they were taught how to respect and use firearms, they played sports and learned fairplay and teamwork, they had jobs and knew the value of a dollar, and they were raised to know Jesus and his sacrifice.

We didn’t mention if it was conservative or liberal.

My youngest took a test for civics class in school that was supposed to measure how conservative or liberal they were. He was pretty surprised when most of his classmates were liberal and he came out as strong conservative. I told him he’s been surrounded by it his whole life.

I’m happy to say that all the younger people I know don’t have tattoos or piercings and they’re almost all (*smirk*) waiting on marriage before having sex and starting families.

The most conservative group to come along in a long time, the so-called Alt-Right, Pepe the Frog, 4-Chan Trollmasters, are mostly kids. They are immune to charges of racism.

These are kids that have grown up with zero tolerance. They have observed first hand the tyranny of the self-righteous leftists who are neither tolerant or open minded.

I have always thought of it as a pendulum swinging

One of the biggest pendulum swings was from from the 1830’s when alcoholism, crime and divorce, etc were at an extremely high level. It began the swing which ended with prohibition and then it began again.
