FReeper smoothsailing (Rusty) has passed away

Mrs. smoothsailing contacted me today to relate that longtime FReeper smoothsailing passed away yesterday, 9-13-16 of pancreatic cancer.
Smoothsailing will be missed here at FR, he was a staunch conservative, a true patriot and a gentleman.
He was active in the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Pennsylvania. On his homepage he said "I'M A DAMN PROUD VIETNAM VETERAN" and he surely was.
Rest In Peace, my FRiend. One day we'll meet on the other side.

Sorry to hear of this loss, or the loss of any FReeper to death or otherwise.
It takes a little of me each time losses happen.
In this instance a FReeper’s life has ended. Of course that is a very special case calling for reflection on the loss of our dear FReeper, but also something more.
It begs the question if we are doing enough? I reflect on each loss and try to reassess my actions. Am I the FReeper I should be?
Would SmoothSailing (Rusty) think so? Would I, if I looked hard enough.
Sad sad time, but definitely a cause for reflection, for our dear departed FReeper, and our actions into the future in their absence.
