So $500,000 a year is middle class? In what universe?
Hell....grocery stores too..and free unicorns for all!!!
In order to absorb the costs, employers would have to substantially reduce the amount of vacation time offered. This would impact everyone else. I will sound like a b*tch, but they chose to have children. Find a way to make ends meet while out caring for them.
For both father & mother?
______________
What about grandfather and grandmother? Too many children in my area of the country are under the care of the grandparents. They are the ones holding down a job and trying to raise the grandchildren. . .forget the parents . . .many have not even begun to look for employment nor do they take an interest in their children. It is a sad day in America.
“I fully intend to vote for Mr. Trump but am under no illusion that he is anything but a Scoop Jackson-Sam Nunn-Ed Koch New York Democrat. Which, frankly, makes him the far superior choice compared to a crypto-Muslim Communist like Obama or an unindicted not-so-crypto-brain-damaged-lesbian-Marxist like Hillary.”
Just because of this? You think he’s going to be worse than George W. Bush?
But you're right that the two parties today are Socialism Light and Socialism Malt. Either one will try to stymie a President Trump, or give a President Illary a free pass. And since for the past thirty years the best government, or least harmful, has been Stymietown (AKA "Gridlock") the choice is awfully damned clear no matter what bones Trump throws out to appease the dogs.
I remain an everTrumper.
You are dreaming. Better chance with the Libertarians.
It is not. Yes.
Lots of places have unlim sick leave.
Yes. Have parents care as much for their children as they do "stuff". My parents sacrificed 50% of their income when I was born. Thanks Mom!
Thanks for replying.
I dont expect Trump to find a constitutional approach to his maternity plan overnight. But Trump didnt get to where hes at as a businessperson by ignoring problems.
More government mandates to businesses is not the way to go.
Just to get mommy votes.
That, of course, makes women less productive for their employers and results in lower salaries unless men are forced to subsidize the less productive workers which then makes the men less productive themselves or causes them to find employment in a company that rewards them for their entire productive value.
The employers don’t pay for it. The male employees pay for some of it in lower salaries and the customers pay for as much of it as can be garnered by higher prices.
I think he’s a wild card who might surprise and at times displease everyone, supporters and opponents alike. That’s what leaders will do when it’s necessary. Will he be better than Bush? Don’t know. I do believe he is genuinely patriotic, a master salesman, extremely smart behind a façade of mouthy bravado (he’s a New Yorker), and he won’t be hit without hitting back twice as hard. The last item alone puts him ahead of anybody named Bush. And irrespective of his philosophical leanings vis a vis the Constitution or however he’s labeled, all that makes him by far the superior choice.
Uh, stuff? Like food, housing...
In 1950 the average new home cost approximately 2.5 times the average annual income. The average new home was $8,450 and the average income was $3,210.
Last year the average new home was $355,500 and the average income was $44,600. If we used the same ratio as existed in 1950, then the new home would cost $111,500 OR the average salary would be $142,200.
The BASICS cost, much, much more now than they did when we were kids. It isn't a matter of a smaller house if mom stays home, it is a matter of living in a trailer or a home.
Food, too, is more expensive. I live in a upper-middle class neighborhood and discovered that about 1 in 4 of my neighbors is on some kind of food assistance.
“I was under the impression that any freeper that has been here for a while knew that the Donald was/is not a conservative.”
I have been here for awhile, realize what Trump is, and decided to support him.
My political philosophy is closer to pragmatism than to dogmatic adherence to so called principles that are not electable, or in some cases even applicable.
FDR and Churchill were at opposite polls in terms of textbook philosophy, but worked together on vital wartime issues, for the survival of their respective countries, and world outcome.
Trump is on the correct side on matters of national security and internal safety as well.
I like it.
Use the 'nation building' money for funding - then charge a tax on 'elites' when they give 'speeches... overseas... say 50% of their ill gotten take...
Again, I remain an everTrumper.
