It doesn't. Trump has endorsed a big government mandate that will take from those that are at work and give to those that are off work - and cut government bureaucracies in for a large piece of the action. And set the stage for even more largess in years 2,3,4,5,6 of the program. And so on.
Hardest hit will be small businesses - but I would expect some of those that are favored by authorities will be given exemptions. Those unfavored will be cracked down on hard (for the children).
It’s not slandering - it’s the truth. Can look up any gov spending record. Went up big every year. Same for Bush.
Anything that the government MANDATES is not a good thing. If your employer does not already offer paid maternity leave, it is up to YOU to find a way to pay for the time needed to take off for your newborn. If employers are forced to do this, they will continue to cut staff to continue to break even, if not make a profit. Your kid and it is your responsibility to find a way to shoulder the financial burdens this entails.

Agree. And i think others here misunderstood what i said. I meant that a employer could provide a first class nursery at the job site. NOt that the Government should pay for it.

We’ve done all kinds of similar things for employees with serious life circumstances, like cancer or surgery with long recovery times.
You wait for government mandates before making changes that you are "ok with"?

As one of American's small businesses (less than 100 employees), we have always acted flexibly for our people. We do not need the government to tell us what to do. Since this may come to pass, I'm OK with it, since we're already doing more.
