NFL says it will fine players who wear 9/11 tribute cleats
San Francisco Chronicle ^ | September 11, 2016

The NFL has already ruled at least one 9/11 tribute out of bounds on opening weekend.

Tennessee Titans linebacker Avery Williamson has been told to shelve a pair of cleats he planned to wear to commemorate the 15th anniversary of the September 11 attacks.

According to The Tennessean , Williamson was informed by the league he would be fined for a uniform violation if he wore the shoes. New York Giants receivers Odell Beckham and Victor Cruz are expected to wear similar shoes. Other players, including Atlanta's Julio Jones, already wore similar cleats during warms-ups.

So players can do a “hands up - don’t shoot” routine based on a racist lie, but they can’t honor the dead victims and firemen of 911. This is the new leftist PC NFL. Leftists spoil everything they can touch.

A play dress code technicality, it sounds like.

It probably would not matter for practices.

It’s better than the way it reads... I thought that it was something like artwork on the cleated bottom of the shoes. It isn’t; it’s artwork on the sides of the shoes.

Do the players get to earn money from replicas of their jerseys?

It’s a violation - just to have the depiction on the leathers?

But OK to wear flourescent pink and orange and garrish yellow.

This isn’t even a safety issue. Just an “image” issue?

Sick!

This is worse than Manning and Redman being told not to wear hightops when Johnny U died (1 year after 9/11). It’s just an image, FGS.

Not to mention OK for Arab-look-alike QB to diss the US and the US flag.

Liberal nation - OK to hate on your own country, but God (if He existed!) forbid you should “celebrate” it!

I just saw a play in the Bengals vs jets game... the defender puts a hit on the receiver and is call for ruffing... It was a good hit..!! nailed him with his shoulder...!!

The game has been completely ruined by the stinking liberals.... I WILL NOT WATCH THAT CRAP...

It's a nice day... I'll spend my Sundays outdoors....

Of course! It appeases the Feminists!

Notice how no tribute to Prostate Cancer Awareness month exists.

The NFL is just another tentacle in the propaganda machine.

They don’t want to offend those who cheered on 9-11.

If they permit Black Lives Matter protests but not 9-11 memorial cleats on 9-11-16, they should be boycotted.

That’s why I refuse to participate in any way in Komen Month (which is euphemistically referred to as Breast Cancer Awareness Month).

Bingo. The NFL has a "yuge" fan following among ISIS, Al Qaeda and the Taliban.
