NFL bracing for possible player National Anthem protests on 9/11 [ blacks happier Under Bush ]

The National Football League is bracing for possible widespread player demonstrations during the national anthem at Sunday’s opening games, in what would mark a high-profile escalation of a protest movement over concerns of racial injustice in America.

The games fall on the 15th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks, which the NFL plans to commemorate with appearances by military personnel, first responders and two U.S. presidents. That backdrop could further animate a fierce national debate set off last month by quarterback Colin Kaepernick’s refusal to stand for the anthem.

Officials with the NFL Players Association, who have been providing its union members with guidance on what protests are prohibited under the labor agreement, expect that players on several teams may pursue some form of protest.

Barack appears to have been raised to be a cynical user.

“The National Football League is bracing for possible widespread player demonstrations during the national anthem at Sunday’s opening games . . .”

Common sense action is needed - cancel all NFL games for one year. If there are problems next year, cancel for an additional year, and so on and so forth.

But sadly, even “holding a real job” is no insulation against cynical using.

Sometimes the Peter Principle kicks them far upstairs. I knew a most jerklike boss who did not reveal a clue about this until it was too late to back out of the situation.

“Barack appears to have been raised to be a cynical user.”

In the old days we called them “Red Diaper Babies.”

NASCAR has a catch-all, actions detrimental to the sport...

NFL needs to implement this to save the game.

That way the entire team can disrespect the flag, America, and Americans because with interlocked arms NONE OF THEM WILL HAVE THEIR HANDS OVER THEIR HEARTS!

This shameful display on the 15th Anniversary of 9/11!

May the NFL rot.

“Common sense action is needed - cancel all NFL games for one year. If there are problems next year, cancel for an additional year, and so on and so forth.”

The NFL has a revenue of $13 billion per year. They are not going to cancel games for one year, one day or one minute.

What? What? What is the purported logic, and how can it ever be expected?

The idols won’t salute the country and we are browned off about it. Maybe we should revisit our view of idols.

Great idea!

widespread player demonstrations during the national anthem at Sunday's opening games

Demonstrations against what? Being ridiculously overpaid?

No more will I purchase NFL gear as Christmas gifts, etc. Zip, zero, nada.

“The NFL has a revenue of $13 billion per year.”

But if canceling the season would “bring us together” wouldn't it be worth it AT ANY COST?

If that happens, I really think the NFL will die. Truly, absolutely shameful. And that doesn't even cover it/describe it.

Disrepectful of so many people of all political stripes. When you think about it, probably many of them loved to watch Sunday football.

It makes me so mad I could spit.

The NFL stage belongs to the league, not to the employees. Word should have already gone out that those personnel who intend to do anything except stand in silence during the national anthem, should do so on the tunnels before entering the field. Further, the television control room should be instructed that NO video or still photos are to be broadcast, of any field personnel kneeling or sitting during the NA. If any messaging nitwits do hit the field, their message will be suppressed.

The sponsors should hear EVERY complaint. They should know their dollars are at stake.

215 Black Americans were killed on 9/11. Do their lives matter?
