MIAMI (CBSMiami) The Miami Dolphins held a players-only meeting Friday to discuss a possible demonstration against racial inequality during the national anthem in their season opener.
Sunday marks 15 years since the September 11th terror attacks. Families will mourn lost loved ones. Americans across the country will pause to reflect on one of the most horrific days in our history.
But in the NFL, many players say theyre considering using that day to protest.
The Seahawks roster has a demonstration planned for the national anthem.
Dolphin players may also have something in the works, but it appears to be on an individual basis.
Every man for himself, I guess. Each his own, said Dolphins safety Reshad Jones. Everybody have different opinions and entitled to different things.
Its a controversial gesture which will likely be even more polarizing with the opening of the NFL season falling on the 9/11 anniversary.
The NFL says they plan on honoring service men and women, first responders and the victims of September 11th across the league on Sunday.
There will also be a message from President Barack Obama and former President George W. Bush.

The Beautiful People Division, which serves a similar purpose (occasionally sans the violence) is currently headed by some Armenian American Princess named Kim Kardashian. She is known for the substantial size of her gluteus maximus muscles, so large they have been assigned their own zip code and are believed to have an independent weather system. As is the case with the Heavyweight Division, watching and reading about the comings and goings of the members of this division is also believed to enhance the lives of the average citizen.
In the early days of the American Republic, there was also a Political Division. It was disbanded due to loss of interest after the election of progressive hero Woodrow Wilson, father of the One World forerunner of the beloved United Nations, the League of Nations, the Federal Reserve and drumroll, please THE INCOME TAX!

They’re EMPLOYEES, for heaven’s sake! The boss sets the rules for appropriate behavior in team ceremonies.
.
Time to kiss off the NFL!
They’ve been quite raunchy for several years, and this crap has to be the end.

“Baseball Player saves the American Flag from being burnt. “
I know what my grandmother would have said about this, from her house down in Florida, and it would have resembled one of Lenny Bruce’s routines.

I’m praying with you, Choctaw. Hit ‘em where it hurts, right in the old bottom line.

The Seattle Seahawks will be STANDING together, arm in arm, black and white, to show that we CAN and MUST be unified as Americans in order to heal the divisions that a FEW people are pushing in order to create friction, increase tension and further their own agendas, which are distinctly ANTI-American!
Proud of their resolve to work together as a team and show unity and respect on September 11th!
The shark was jumped when they failed to take action against the Rams for the “Hands up, Don’t Shoot” protest”. After that radical activism got the green light!
I sent my very angry email to the NFLPA. Thanks for the information.
A few football players are protesting because a few police officers have made big mistakes while the vast majority act fine.
...
In the case of Michael Brown there was no mistake. The police officer was fighting for his life. He’s still the poster boy of BLM, though, and his mother gets big invites from crooked politicians.
I was going to watch the game. Then I saw the player take a knee. I turned off the TV, poured myself a glass of wine, and joined my wife on the porch.
Screw the America-hating NFL!
Boycott the NFL
Beautifully written. Good thoughts.
They would have been off the team before "home of the brave" was sung.
“K” is at least rooted in baseball history and traditions. As I’m sure you’re aware, it is the annotation made by scorers to denote a strikeout...

In the interest of racial equality; NFL players should henceforth be paid $15 an hour.
You’re welcome.
Seattle players to interlock arms, stand together in unity before opener
Wide receiver Doug Baldwin said in a Facebook video that the Seattle Seahawks will stand and interlock arms before the teams Week 1 matchup against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday.
We are a team comprised of individuals with diverse backgrounds, Baldwin said during the video. And as a team, we have chosen to stand and interlock arms in unity. We honor those who have fought for the freedom we cherish. And we stand to ensure the riches of freedom and the security of justice for all people. Progress can and will be made only if we stand together.
Baldwin was asked Friday how proud he is of what the Seahawks have planned.
Im extremely proud, he said. Im excited. Extremely proud. Like I said, it makes me want to cry almost, just how our team has handled this and the discussions weve had and how weve come together. Its been absolutely amazing.
Added coach Pete Carroll: These are young men that are trying to figure out the world themselves, too, and they want to try to make sense of how they can have impact and how they can affect others. I just couldnt be more proud of the way theyve gone through it and really what has happened through the process. And then well see on the weekend that theyre going to do a very, very good thing.
The stadium staff should refuse to start the National Anthem until those players stand, then the refs should penalize them for delay of game.
Hope everyone in the stands sings really loud. Then when the players take the field, they start throwing beer cups.
Then the stadium shuts down concessions, and they lose millions of dollars.
