So... What’s the problem? I wouldn’t go into those areas as a tourist, either.
Naive international tourists actually should be directed away from high crime areas. They don’t understand the culture, they can’t “read” the behavioral warnings that the natives of that country can. It’s bad for business, for tourists to get robbed, beaten or killed. If doing so ends up highlighting minority areas, whose problem is that, those who point it out or those who perpetrate the crimes? I suspect there are lower class white areas that are pretty sketchy too, though.
It’s just damn sad when China puts out more truth than some Western entities do these days.

Chinese may not have a culture of freedom but they sure have more sense than liberal Americans. I talked to a few foreign exchange students who showed me bits of ‘training films’ (rough translation) they’d had to watch before coming to America. Three guesses what kind of people they were sternly warned against getting close to and where they were going. If any business here had run the same thing verbatim every PC org in the nation would have had a screaming tantrum.
Traveling to London each quarter, I can state with 100% confidence, China is absolutely correct. . .especially when in muslimes areas.
Anyone that complains should feel free to tour said neighborhoods.
