One way, another would be stop the money flowing back into Mexico from USA from immigrants until Mexico pays up. I think this was detailed in letter to the WP back in April by Mr. Trump

Heck, this is the perfect place to use “civil forfeiture,” too. If you knowingly use illegal aliens to clean your big movie star home, gardens or yacht, your home, your garden and your yacht become ours. Proceeds go to the wall. If you run a roofing company that uses illegals to undercut law abiding contractors, we get your company and the proceeds go to the wall. Rinse and repeat until cleansed.

There’s also $10 Billion in transferred funds annually ... a small 5% tax on that - not enough to encourage evasion - would net an easy $500 Million annually, enough to pay for a rigorous border-security system ...

Isn’t that what the DEA does with seized fast boats in Miami? Convert them to surveillance or pursuit vehicles to apprehend the drugs coming into this country via the Gulf or Atlantic coastline?

Cutting off their welfare, medical and schooling would do much more to deter illegals than a wall, which will never get funded or built, by the way.

Curious to know why Trump has never mentioned, as far as I know, cutting off TAXPAYER FUNDED welfare, medical and schooling to citizen of Mexico, which is what illegals are.

I could see enlisting Mexicans/illegal immigrants
into a citizenship/work program BUILDING THE WALL.
Two year enlistment, learn English, study citizenship
build a good record and take the test and be a citizen
after two years.

That is one way to make Mexico and others PAY FOR THE WALL!

Last spring in Baltimore there was talk of the city selling their houses to companies who would use them for training grounds in the building trades
