A symbol of hatred or history? Obama quietly bans Confederate flag at cemeteries(V.A.)

The Veterans Affairs Department quietly moved this month to ban flying of Confederate flags from fixed flagpoles at the cemeteries it runs, striking yet another blow against the controversial emblem.

Congress had debated and rejected that change, but the Obama administration decided to move forward anyway, saying it was unilaterally imposing the restrictions.

“In particular, we will amend our policy to make clear that Confederal flags will not be displayed from any permanently fixed flagpole in a national cemetery at any time,” wrote Ronald E. Walters, under secretary for memorial affairs at the VA.

Re: Paris climate agreement from an earlier post. “CONgress? I don’t need no steenkin’ CONgress.” They may as well adjourn for the rest of the year since he’s gonna do whatever he feels like and they won’t do anything about it. “Hey CONgress. F You!”

The fact that a sitting (p)resident would make a statement that “We aren’t exceptional.” should have made it pretty clear that he’s not on America’s side. Getting ready for round 3 with hildabama at the helm. Well, if she can find it that is.

How soon before they also ban the American flag? You know, all that hatred and slavery that existed for years under it? Not to mention how racist it all is even today?

We’re already working hard to erase Native Americans from our schools and sports teams.

We have “Native America” printed on our license plates, (Oklahoma).

“Where the heck is Congress to rein this rogue in?”

They’re right in front of him. On their knees.

His wife did say about changing history. Yet these fools and ignorant voters still voted for this community agitator, and now we still have republicans who are helping Clinton.
Sickening.

It's a given that Obama wants to tear down all memorials to the Confederacy. What angers me a lot more is how many conservatives are willing to serve as his dupes by repeating the Left's talking points about the Civil War and the Confederacy (which they hide with the fig leaf of "Confederates were Democrats," not recognizing what an anachronism it is to project today's party politics onto the political divides of 150+ years ago).

Conservative Republicans who join the Left's chorus of hate against the Confederacy don't seem to realize that the Confederate flag is just the first an easiest target for these people. Obama and his minions would be just as happy tearing down the American flag as the Confederate Flag, and just as happy tearing down statues of George Washington as they are tearing down statues of Lee or Davis. They just can't - yet.

At national cemeteries, the Confederate flag should never have flown. Would we allow someone to sport a Nazi flag at a US national cemetery? Should be a non-issue. Elsewhere should be up to whoever owns the cemetery and whatever agreements or traditions exist. Rewriting history has its place but defacing grave sites is simply wrong.

The flag ban in SC was reversed, hopefully the principal will shortly leave or be fired.

Why not just dig up Confederate bones and throw them in the street?

In my post 33, I mentioned useful idiot Republicans who carry water for PC Left by repeating its talking points about the Confederacy, race relations, immigration, etc. Thanks for providing exhibit A to prove my point.

It never ceases to amaze me how many of the Politically Correct Left's instincts, reflexes, and talking points have been absorbed by Republicans.

That is coming. Desecration of the graves and monuments is already being done with impunity.

He really thinks he is a king.

As yet, no one has proven he isn't.
